I didn't vote for Obama and I really don't like him but in the interest of fairness, presidents don't always go to events and sometimes send a surrogate such as Biden to Arlington. Bush did it on Veterans Day 2008 sending Cheney to lay the wreath at the tomb of the Unknowns. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,450127,00.htm... Where was the indignation when Bush proposed a copay for disabled veterans in the middle of the Iraq War? http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/nation/304004... As a disabled combat veteran, I was shocked that he would do this but where were the NeoCon pundits during this travesty? Only the prospect of losing the 2006 election and public indignation made him change his mind.
If I wanted to be petty, I could cite many, many observances that all presidents have neglected such as June 25 1950, July 27, 1953, Sept 2, 1945, May 8, 1945, etc. Is fairness not a NeoCon trait? For the record, I am a registered Independent--formerly a Republican.
