Hey man,

Just wanted to let you know that I have been encouraged time and time agin by reading your blog, and hearing stories of how God has provided for you and your family. In fact, at times even feeling a bit jealous because "God never does that sort of thing in my life!!" (Even though He does every day...funny how our sin nature jumps to goofy thoughts like that!)

I know God has a great plan for you, and without taking the verse out of context, I know that God will finish what He stared - which is preparing you for ministry. I'm not sure what God's plan is for you and your family; but I know do you are super gifted, and God is going to use you to in big way to impact the kingdom, as long as you stay closely connected to Him, and your family!

I just prayed for you, and your family; and even though I know you already know this; use this time to draw closer to Him. I know it's really hard to see from your vintage point, but this is exciting. I know God is up to something with you guys! Just think about how much over the last few years He has taught you to trust Him.

Isn't it funny how He can provide a thousand times, and we worry about the 1,001 time; as if He is going to "forget." - You, and I both know He won't!

God's doing a great work in your life - stay close to HIm. He will see you through all of this!

Love you brother!
Rick

You must not have used Logos in a while. It can now do anything accordance can do. I have upgraded to Logos 4, and it's even more awesome.

I find accordance to be very "unMac" like. Besides not having near as many resources as Logos, no where near as easy to use, and no where near the amount of publisher support that Logos has - it just looks ugly! (sorry - I'm a sucker for nice looking design!)

I see a lot of great needs that church online can meet, however how do children (and teenagers, and even adults) build real, life friendships, and relationships? They may be able to meet some friends that they video chat with at some time, but the purpose of church is WAY more then watching a person talk, and a band play songs - it's about community. I understand all of the ways people can build community at an online church, but as children (and teenagers) are developing, it's important they have other voices in their life speaking truth, adults that can pour into them, and even more important - building real, life, (physical) relationships with people at their church. Sharing life is important for all ages, but even more-so for children (and teenagers). They NEED shared memories that only a physical church, and physical people can give them. Mission trips, camp, lock-ins, broom-ball, hanging out with their peers after church at Chile's, etc. This is so, so important.

As adults it's easier for us to understand that relationships, and community, can be had in more "virtual" places (although nothing can replace a physical, human relationship), but children and teenagers? I don't think so. I look at the small children at church playing on the playground, and having fun with their peers, while learning truths about God, and how He loves them. This is so important. I wonder how you replace that having church online?

This is one of my main concern about church online, we are made in the image of The "imago dei", and thus we are in need of physical, real, community, and relationships - it's in our DNA.

Thankful that we can dialogue about this, as we attempt to see people become who God has created them to be.

I'm in the same boat as you. If you look at the press release and do some online research it sure looks real..that's what throws me off..

I'm in the same boat as you. If you look at the press release, it is a real one. It was actually released on the "wire" - it's a "real" press release. Some company (or some person) actually released this press release. Weird.
