I would like to add another point regarding the sexual revolution: it treats all sexual interactions as pornography. Those seeking to run through as many sexual partners as possible are in reality masturbating--there is no actual connection, just a thinner barrier between them. Treating men or women as objects of lust in the propia persona is the same as treating them so through the medium of a screen or a magazine page, except a trifle more brutal. I know several young men who have broken up with their girlfriends due to the girls being 'not dirty enough' as if what they see in their extensive pornography collections were reality. The sexual revolution is an abandonment of reality for fantasy, and whether one goes to single's bars and jumps in bed with as many strangers as possible seeking an impossible fantasy, or looks at 100,000 naked pictures seeking an impossible fantasy, or watches 'softcore' or 'hardcore' movies expecting an impossible fantasy to materialize any second, reality gets lost in the shuffle and fantasy becomes worldview. In addition to the other ills of sexual addiction or pornography addiction is the acceptance of deception as reality, and the more grotesque, violent or deviant the images or actions, the further from reality one gets. Watching a naked girl taking a shower is only a mild deception, while the harder hardcore gets the greater and more ridiculous the lies. So while damaging the brain and requiring ever more stimuli to work up a head of steam, the worldview is slowly changed until an addict becomes capable of things that at the beginning were impossible. While it is incorrect to say that every porn addict will become a child molester, at present it's hard to imagine anyone becoming a child molester WITHOUT porn. Better to keep away from the precipice rather than flirting with the horrors of a fall.

You hit the nail sqawr on the head! The idea that liberals aren't hierarchical is ludicrous. As usual, they're not arguing with actual conservatives or libertarians, but with their own prejudices. The blindness is truly mind boggling. But then again, you can't expect people who refuse to learn anything since their teenage years to sudden become introspective and open-minded. It's Orwell all over. Truth=Lies, Freedom=Slavery, Conservative=Pharaoh.

It's the reason I don't much like mystery stories, neither books nor movies. The payoff is rarely worth the trouble. Either they give you all the clues and it's too easy to figure out, or they don't give you enough clues and it makes no sense. It's only occasionally fun, as in "The Usual Suspects," but I got tired of it during the 3rd season of Lost. I think you're quite right about the laziness, as the twists and turns have little or nothing to do with each other. Each season you get a whole new set of mysteries and precious little explanation of the leftovers from the last season. Same thing happened with Heroes.

And as Mr. Leigh writes, time travel is just like plutonium. Not careful enough, you get poisoned to death--really irresponsible, you blow up the world. One little paradox is all it takes.
