Hey asswise.... He was the first and is the ONLY Repub to date who HAS expressed regret over Pigford. There's a reason not to take jokes like you seriously. You don't do your damn homework

LMAO, Eileen for Freedom. You're quite funny and energetic. I KNOW he's a part of the CBC. Did you not read my entire post? He said DURING THE CAMPAIGN he'd join if elected to bring a new perspective to the black community and he has. Continued to go "He joined the CBC!" isn't news for most Republicans. We all already knew that. He's still mainly stuck to his guns. He's learning but he's still done well.

"It appears that Rep West is covering all his bases by listing himself in both the black and tea party caucas...but he voted with only one on the King Amendment...and it wasn't to align with what the 'tea party' wanted!"
First of all, he did not vote WITH THE CBC like I said as if he and the CBC members all went in there together holding hands and voted. He voted on his own just liek the other 77 Republican voters (funny how you act like they aren't there. They vote "with the CBC" too?
Also, funny how you act like this one vote cancels out the other 99% of his votes that ARE WITH the Tea Party. He's coughed up a couple times but he, nor ANY politician, is perfect.

Please read all everything and do your homework before just blurting out whatever hoopla comes to that head of yours

Eileen for Freedom, what in the heck are you talking about? Do any of you guys here do any THOROUGH research? Or do you just drink any ol writer and/or activist's koolaid and run with it?

Rep. West IS A PART OF the Tea Party Caucus. Always has been http://theconservativediva.net/rep-allen-west-joi...

It was Rubio and other Tea Party candidates decided not to join but he did.

And if you'd again, quit listening to journalist and do your own research, you'd know the majority of the CBC hates him. He's basically like their "token conservative". He's basically just there to show the black community you don't have to be ONE WAY, vote democrat and all that like the Libs say. There are other options

I've checked into them on occasions to see if he ever actively does anything with them and he doesn't. Do you ever here of him doing anything with him? No, because he primarily doesn't. He wants to get pass all the racial issues and what not, (and I can guarantee you, his Rep King vote had NOTHING to do with his color has others have just ASSUMED based on nothing but...just that.... ASSUMPTIONS) As if 77 others Reps didn't vote the same way) West has never been known to use his color to make decisions. That's one of the things we like.

Most recent article which included some up to date info on him in the CBC http://www.miamiherald.com/2011/06/20/2275729/all...

--------------------------------------------------
"He's not very easily swayed off what his principles are, and I think that's an admirable trait," Rooney said. "When he explains to you why he is where he is on certain issues it's very hard to disagree with what he's saying, even if I'm trying to convince him to do something different."
West is a frequent guest on Fox News, gave the keynote address at the Conservative Political Action Conference and delivered a speech at the conservative Hertiage Foundation calling for more military spending.
And though he caused a stir when he pressed to join the all-Democratic Congressional Black Caucus, he rarely talks when the group meets.
"He has been very approachable," said caucus chair Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, D-Mo. West didn't join the group when they met with Obama, prompting Cleaver's opening line, "Mr. President, I want you to know all the members of the Congressional Black Caucus are committed to your re-election, but one." Obama laughed, Cleaver said, "And said, yes, I know, Mr. West."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh and BTW... West is the only Republican Congressman to date out of the 78 that voted to come out and wish he could take the vote on the King Amendment back. None of the others have... including Paul Ryan. He's not perfect and unlike the other crooks in D.C, he'll own up. THAT'S integrity. None of us would make THE PERFECT Politician and expecting one who has only held public office for 5 months his entire life (after his military exit) is asinine. You've got guys up there who have been there for a quarter of a century who still suck.

Some people are have such thin skin that they jump ship on a Rep because of 1 or 2 things they disagree with them on or they're easily swayed by nobody journalists just looking to make headlines. Have to check for yourself or you'll just be another fish

BTW... Here's a recent article I just found to back up the claims. This writer clearly doesn't follow West with any kind of regularity and was only looking for recognition and a juicy spin to put on it.... I guess it work for a few of ya

LOL... I can see people are in the dark on this. HE IS a part of the Tea Party Caucus bud. Was one of the first ones to join. As as far as the CBC, he's basically like their "token conservative". I've checked to see if he does anything and they say he rarely speaks. In fact, when recently the CBC met with the President to express their support, he was the only one who didn't show up. Do not be drawn in by people like this author who don't do their research and just try to make something juicy for a story (for instance, if West voted with the CBC as this author put it then so did the other 77) It's not as if West walked in with the CBC saying "we're gonna help out our people" (in the words of Attorney General Holder) and the all hug and casted their votes in together like a group. He individually like these others casted his vote and to date seems to be the only one who has come out to express regret. Being patient and doing your own research is the way to go. Not just take the words of any reporter because I can tell ya, most of them are only looking out for their own jobs

Have the other 77 Republicans who voted No on this come out and expressed regret over their vote? I was just wondering if any of the 77 Republicans that you forgot to single out (besides Issa) had come out and taken responsibility since their votes count just as much West's vote did. Paul Ryan who has a page on facebook with like 17,000 people wanting him to be president voted No on it and yet I didn't see an article or big uproar dedicated to his mishap. You for whatever decided to single out West and paint a bad picture of him when I doubt you've even met the man (or even follow him that closely, or you probly would have been smart enough to wait for an explanation). Anyone who follows West with any kind of regularity knows A, he's his own guy, independent minded (I really doubt the people whining had anything to do with his regretfulness over this. He really doesn't care what anyone (Democrat, Republican, Liberal, Conservative) say about him). It's just that he happens to be overwhelmingly conservative. For the select few who were wanting to jump off the bandwagon, not sure where you'd be going. The fact he made a mistake and owned up to it is just yet another positive quality to add to his reputar. He isn't and never was going to be Jesus Christ. He's human like us who aren't in office and like in any job, you won't get it every single time and will make some mistakes. His vote didn't sway or make any big difference so... It was just an error. He, unlike most politicians, owned up to it like a man and is back to work. The man already risked his freedom and life, when he had that exit from the military, for our country; and is still one of the few remaining hopes for retaining our great nation and keeping the libs from redoing the whole constitution.

Researching in depth and looking at various talks of these guys who voted NO, it's looks like Pigford was a Court decision and these congressmen voting in favor of it did so because of separation of powers issues and the thinking that it should be resolved in the courts where it had originated, not in congress.

You're right, it was a bad vote in our opinion and in his. He made a mistake. All politicians do and it's not the first nor last mistake West or any other politician will make.
