maybe he was talking about Arafat honorably bumping uglies with his boyfriend. hehehe.

(continued post) our charity is swamped with requests from the frontline combat troops for basic tools that they literally cannot get their hands on. folks don't think about how handy a simple hammer and nails are when living and working out of empty wooden B-huts in dire combat situations. the logistics especially for Afghanistan are damn near criminal they might not have toothpaste and toiletries, but we can get them hammers, nails, saws, drills etc...
bottom line, how do we, the G.I. Woodshop, Inc., get onboard this year's Troopathon? i've already sent an email to Move America Forward and no reply yet. i hope its not too late to get our charity listed with the event? its ok to answer this query offline or at our charity email: giwoodshop at yahoo. appreciate any info and God bless our troops! ;) reeko

re: Troopathon. the non-profit charity that i run, G.I. Woodshop, Inc., has been sending packages downrange to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan for a couple years now. i have also been a long-time follower of Robert and Jihad Watch (God bless all anti-jihadists!).
we missed out on being involved in Troopathon 2008, and would like to know how to become involved in this year's Troopathon?

Alkidya, that is the whole point i was trying to make. US "military transports" had one, and only one, forward airbase in that region, Manas AB, and now that one is gone. there are a few alternatives and some behind-the-scene contingency plans, but not much. if we could secure overflight and landing rights in say, Baku, or Turkmenistan, we could resupply from Georgia/Black See and/or Turkey. our administration is bent on putting us UNDER the whims of NATO, and (my belief) also under the whims of Iran. there are already rumors that Iran is supplying Afghanistan with gas and diesel. Pakistan stopped a few months ago. if that is true, it puts Obama's overtures to Iran in a whole new light...

for now, the G.I. Woodshop is able to get our military mail packages on contingency flights routed through "secret" locations - not even i know where or how they get there - and i am intimately involved.

MrsJ, yes! that is what we are trying to encourage. i have made some how-to videos for sending packages by mail. they are on the greatamericans.com/giwoodshop site also.

there is a rigid protocol to follow. it must be addressed to the individual troop, not a unit. and it can't contain certain things (a long list) and there are other restrictions too. we are part of the Dep of Defense homefront organization to send packages. (we are the only ones who send tools and hardware) but for more info, google "America Supports You" or visit americasupportsyou.mil and click on the "homefront groups". there are several who also have how-to instructions on sending packages. God bless!

for our troops,

"80 militants" attacking a terminal is not a bunch of bandits or insurrection - that is an armed force company size. The Taliban/AQ took out the Khyber Pass bridges in February. In order to put this in perspective, here is a little background on Afghanistan: There are NO railroads in Afghanistan. There are only two northern railheads in Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan where the train cargo must be transferred to trucks. The US only had ONE airlift base in the region: Manas AB, and Obama/Clinton gave it up in a bidding war to the Russians. Now, we have no other way to airlift in supplies. There are NO refineries in Afghanistan - all gas and diesel must be trucked in. It has been estimated that 80 to 90 percent of it is lost to Taliban/AQ or bandits or tribal "elders" in the region.
It doesn't matter how many tanks, troops, attack aircraft, chariots, spears or guns are on the battlefield if u can't resupply them.
Please pray for our troops, who are once again left in harm's way without any (apparent) military thinking from the political weenies in DC.

A long time follower of Jihad Watch, but I can't stand silent no more. As owner and President of a non-profit charity sending tools and supplies to our frontline combat troops in both Iraq and Afghanistan, this year's developments in Afghanistan has hurt us severely. I personally am mad as hell at the situation... Did u know that our troops there are down to eating rations? Milk, even the evaporated milk, is pulled from chowhalls by 9am - if they have it. There are no toiletries to speak of, and they are sharing razors, or not shaving. One tube of toothpaste per squad is becoming the rule... extras, like mail, get through "sometimes". The old joke about ordering the men to change underwear - and the Sarge says: "OK. Smith, you change with Young. Jones, you change with Rogers..." is now becoming much less a joke. __ __You should see some of the plywood "B-huts" they live in... and trenches... and sandbagged tents... without even a hammer or nails or saw. No doors. No hardware. No screws or handtools. Nada. That is what we send them by mail - if they can get their mail.
