$20,000 to support one marginalized group and leave out other marginalized groups is divisive and COMPLETELY unethical. Ron Cabrera made a huge mistake. I am in favor of supporting all marginalized youth. But, by and large, the parents of transgender youth have a higher education level and a deeper understanding of how to effectively work the system in their favor. This is not a bad thing. It's great! But it is up to the DISTRICT to make decisions that are equitable for ALL--even those who do not have a deep understanding of how to fight for rights of their children--our youth--within the parameters of the status quo.
As a former coach (lacrosse), I have to agree: this coaching style is out of line. It's not about winning or losing. When there's a HUGE gap in the score, the winning players lighten up. (Even in pro games players lighten up, take more risks, back off any full press options.) Taunting should NEVER be tolerated. I agree with the letter. It's about sportsmanship. The replies here seem to turn the world black and white: win OR lose. There's always a winner and a loser. That's okay. But the way the game is played AND the way it's coached DOES send a message, and there is a right and wrong message to send.
Fantastic playing all around!
Fantastic. This team is playing so fluidly, so great. Thanks for a great game!!
A person can drive a pick up truck from one place to the other. The only thing a gun can do is shoot. It doesn't provide transportation. I know this seems obvious, but for some, the obvious needs to be stated clearly. A gun is used to shoot, and the primary objective of shooting is to kill. Sure, there's target practice, but what is it practice FOR? You're not tossing up clay pigeons and trying to hit them with an AR. You're not hunting deer. The target in target practice for this is a human silhouette. And again, you're not using the AR to get from place a to b, as you are 99.99999999+% of the time in a pick up truck. The psychology of owning an AR is far different from owning a truck--or a hunting rifle, for that matter.
There's already an East Boulder Art District. It's called Lafayette. That town supports artists more than any other town in Boulder County. Thank you, Lafayette! Plus, there's REAL DIVERSITY in Lafayette, and diversity begets excellent art.
GREAT NEWS! Congrats, players/team--and congrats to Linda Lappe!
The Buffs should get out of PAC-12. They should get out of D-1 football. They are a D-2 team.
I meant that 10 years ago, as the OP said, it was East of Sweden--the East of Sweden where Mary and Bob worked. His implication was that he wanted to know if this was the same business that was in that spot 10 years ago. Yes, it was the same business. And yes, it was the same Mary.
Yes, this is the same business that was on Old Pearl.
