The concept that West Ham would get so far in talks for Sidwell and NOT understand the 25 man roster rule is amazing. Surely the people negotiating have a better understanding of the rules particularly after the Tevez fiasco.
Oh for the days when you could pick up a Hartson and Kitson and have them bang in goals and play with a passion that would disgrace the likes of Piquionne and Cole.
I am fed up with Cole's unlucky me close ups and despite liking him Piquionne lost me with his "showing" in the first 20 minutes on Wednesday. Especially with his layoff pass to noone subsequently leading to their first goal.
Wouldn't it be nice to have clauses in contracts where you have to perform at a certain standard to maintain your current level of compensation or else get dropped from the 25 man roster for 10 games.
Is it a coincidence that since Player Power dominating the game West Ham's fortunes have continued to decline ?

G and S I understand are looking at managerial options. My goodness if my money ran this club I would have had that list on December 1st and I would not have thrown it away when we had an unbeaten streak where we played at the same level as previously but got some luck.and results.
It is shocking that one week of the four that players may be attracted is wasted.

You have to wonder what Zola and Clarke see on the field. They appear totally rigid in a structure and unable to adapt as play develops.
It was obvious that nobody was covering/playing at right half and that Spector was left to cover a marauding left half in 30 yards of space. Add to that that Upson (how on earth is he England materiallet alone be captain of West Ham) and Gabbidon could not figure out who or where to mark and after 10 minutes a message should have come from the sidelines. As all to often silence.
I thought that Ilan was possibly the worst player/performance I have seen since Marco Boogers and still he played80 odd minutes.
Either Zola is ignoring Clarke or Clarke is not what I thought he was.
I have zero confidence that West Ham avoid the drop and looking at Newcastle this year maybe that is what is needed.
This is a crappy situation brought on by in part by an extremely likeable, great player but useless manager.

You cannot beat even weak teams when you are continually being beaten down the wings. Faubert and Spector are just not up to it. They are consistently caught out of position and are both easy to turn inside. Bring in all the strikers you want but you won't get clean sheets without good fullbacks. PS what was Mariner thinking when a player goes down holding his head 2 yards away from him. Not that we deserved better than a draw.

Can anyone tell me what happened to the 7.5 million that was owed to Koorabachian in his settlement. I may have missed it but last I heard he was supposed to get agents fees for transfers etc and I as I have not seen us buying 75 million worth of talent I thought he may still be in the cash mixer somewhere.
All this shows that you are not necessarily bright to have a lot of money and easy come easy goes.

Has anybody heard word one from Upson? I realize he is injured but I would have thought the captain would have a" rah rah chaps" in him regarding the predicament we find ourselves again. Maybe he is just being stoic or maybe he has packed his bags already.
The sort of guy we needin the team (apart from a back line) is a goal poacher and there is only one in the EPL and thats Defoe.
I am pretty fed up with foreign at the moment. They do not seem to have the desire for the game just the paycheck and the side benefits.
How about we look North of the border and get a couple of those kilted highlanders to toughen the team up? Just a thought.

I feel that Zola and Clarke have lost the plot. Team selection at the moment is a crap shoot. Admitedly we have a serious injury problem but some choices in the team make me cringe. Faubert will never be a quality full back and I thought he did not want the ball and when he got it did not know what to do with it. Stanislas is too immature. He gave too many balls away in good areas which may have been why he never got the ball a couple of times he was open wide. Gabbidon is a shadow of two years ago and looks under constant pressure. Noble is also a shadow of himself and looks totally devoid of confidence. Add Illunga into that mix and we look like a relegation team in the making. Good managers know when their players are struggling and adjust on the fly. Our management do not seem to have that ability.
Zola is an extremely genial person and was an outstanding player but I do not know if he has what it takes for a deep and dirty relegation fight not the little flirt we had last season. I am finding the quote that we gave everything after each loss frankly tiresome. How about a little honesty about the situation although I know that the last five years have not been conducive to honesty.
Come on guys . Supporters have had to put up with about as much as anyone can take and in these days of economic disaster we all need a little light relief not more stress.
So Gianfranco and Steve do what you are paid to do and make TOUGH decisions and quickly. If that means Tomkins and Da Costa on the field at the same time great. If it means playing a left sided player on the left tremendous (fed up with dragging ball back on both flanks to get a cross in).
All I want for Christmas are 40 points the sooner the better.
