I guess Pelosi wasn't kidding when she said that the best way to find out what was in the law was to go ahead and pass the law then we'll know what's in it..... Now we're finding out ...

Never mind that conservatives, tea partiers and even some in the middle have been trying to tell you this for over a year....

And we wonder why some people get called names.... It seems pretty clear to me

I am not a tea party member.. However I have watched their rallies...  there some blacks and latinos.. but they certainly not excluded.   Sadly there should be more.  However.  so many minorities in this country particularly african americans have been mis-lead about the role of government in their lives.   Many .. not all by any means.. have come to be convinced that government is their friend...  yet they fail to understand that government enslaves with it's constant dependence on their programs...
 
Now as for tokenism...   What about the tanning bed tax...   I call it the Cracker Tax...
Because I don't know any black folk that use a tanning bed...
 
the government's role should never be taking from one to give to another... i.e. redistribution..   Equal protection is not redistribution..  To do so under the guise of the 10th ammendment is tokenism

I totally agree...  You are absolutely right... the left can Nuke any tea party protest and it's all over the media... but let the right say Obama is a socialist.. and that's hate speech on the six and eleven o clock news

I am so tired of Liberals and progressives (i.e. socialists) falsely accusing conservatives, libertarians, and especially my friends (black, white and brown) in the tea party... Racist...
It is the progressives that want to discriminate on the basis of race with things like federal entitlements of every variety. They (Libs) created the political correctness the divides called the Hyphenated American..

One final thought.... If this were my child... he or she would be back home working at the local car wash or 7-11 until such a time as they could afford to pay their own way.. and if they didn't .. then they probably didnt want a college education to begin with...

I have been an educator for over 36 years... this is by far the best article I have seen in a long time. The problem with public schools is that there is far too much government mandate.
I am not afraid of competetion, because I know I am a good and competent teacher. We need to renew the fact that education is a privelege not a right. We also need to acknowledge that all children can learn but not all children want to learn. Some would rather perform acts of violence and sell drugs or just hang around the house and play video games all day. The sad truth is that most talk radio show hosts.. or conservative commentators.. and especially politicians have never set foot inside a class room. they don't have a clue. Teachers hands are bound and their mouths are gagged. We are told what to teach.. where to teach... and how to teach.. and it is all teaching directly to a standardized test. Sorry if I got on my soap box... but the entitlement mentality of these college kids is pathetic... lets rejoice in the fact that they are hopefully just a small minority...

Any one that doesn't see through this facade is really lacking... Obama knows it will take several years just to complete the environmental impact study.. followed by several more years of environmentalist law suits... heck It might be 25 years before the oil companies can even drill there... by then the chinese(cubans) and the russians will be well established in these grounds and we will be waiting on the wind to blow
