Very strange article. They list the full name of a previous suspect, but only list Hernandez as the name of the one arrested. What is the first name?

The real sad part of this whole story and the real victims are his children. They lost their beloved mother and the only parent left is their slime ball father who should be in prison.

I love it when people can go beyond their personal pain and make something positive out of their own life and the lives of others! That shows remarkable spirit and character. Congratulations, Kovi!

Parking lots are one of the most dangerous places for children. I don't see how a driver could see a little toddler behind them even using mirrors in an SUV, let alone a car.

I just do not get our court system - 35 years and the guy wasn't even killed. Murderers and rapists get off for far less. Not saying this guy doesn't deserve prison time at all, but why is there no consistency in sentencing times that fits the crimes?

Interesting: Oregonlive.com has a different figure altogether: "The jury deliberated about three hours and ruled that Portland Police Officer Benjamin J. Davidson violated Daniel Halsted's constitutional rights, and awarded him $125,000 in punitive damages, $75,000 in non-economic damages and $6,372.70 for medical costs. "

LOL - your point is well taken. I think a lottery winning would have been far easier. This very lame article missed important details like when the incident occurred. I took this from oregonlive.com:

"Halsted, a 36-year-old Portland resident with no criminal record, called the June 17, 2008, encounter at Northeast Wasco Street and 26th Avenue "the most traumatic experience" in his life. "

That is a long time to be waiting for "lottery" money!
