If you don't care about your own data go with the Chrome OS. People never read license agreements and that works well for Google. Sure their data collection is all anonymized, but it still kinda disturbs me that whatever I do or write in google or gmail is their data.

Spoken like a true google droid. You really think will all the personal tracking Google does, they don't include it in their phones. Your data is their data. Droid may not have the similar tracking feature, but I don't doubt they track
I used to be anti-anything Microsoft and Starbucks until I moved up here 6 years ago. After I met a number of people who work for both companies and realized the impact they have on the local economy I became less unjustly critical. I still think Linux is a better OS and you'll rarely see me in a Starbucks, but I do wish both companies success. In the case of Microsoft, I hope they keep up with the competition, improve and also create something new. Competition is a good thing! I don't want a Apple or Google dominated market, for the same reasons I didn't want a Microsoft one.
