Installs itself sure but can do very few things before it downloads its payload and obtains admin password. Don't ever grant permissions to anything you haven't run yourself and you're fine for the time being.

I'm happy as long as trojans ask for my admin password politely.

I don't know what the hell he was sketching but he sketched a whole line of iPhone lookalikes.

No, they don't. To be fair, part of the mark up is often VAT, but the difference is unjustifiable anyway.

I just wish they would stick to not paying a dividend. Investors are about the only group of people who absolutely do not deserve AAPL's cash. Workers in Asia/U.S., customers (in the form of lesser margins), strategic acquisitions, investments in R&D and cleaner production… you name it, anything but the dividend (and I am a shareholder myself).

You should absolutely always download combo updates and preferably not at the time of release but at least several days if not weeks later. At least that is what a pro would do and this case again shows why...

It's called leading by example (and is addressed in the report). Apple can easily afford to deal with this (and they will) and that's the whole point. I love Apple (and I own the stock) but I wouldn't think for a split second there is anything wrong with this pressure. Outsourcing should not be about moving to a place where you can get away with stuff you would not be allowed to do here 50 years ago. Especially when you have 40%+ operating margin. It borders on immoral.

Relax, it is temporary. It is not like he can manage to do all those things anyway. He is probably mostly overseeing the well established process.

It has been discussed over and over again and so far nobody has come up with an ergonomic solution. You will either get a terrible headaches if the display is laying on the table in front of you or your hands will fall of because you can't really be reaching all the time with your hands in the air.

As opposed to what other products? I take this actually as a positive sign (and I'm very sympathetic to their cause), a couple years ago they would not be able to go on strike or would be swiftly replaced. A lot is changing in China. Apple will take this seriously, no doubt, people increasingly care about those kinds of things and in turn are forcing corps to care. They are lucky they work for Apple supplier, was it Dell or Lenovo it would not be even reported.
