I guess I don't understand why an innocent person needs to invoke the fifth amendment? any legal experts out there that can explain this? Invoking the fifth amendment implicates you, I think.

I just learned this last week, and was really surprised. It would be nice if they were helping underprivileged folks by getting them a paycheck, but I'm not sure if that's how it works.

I am from Portland actually, born and raised. I think an umbrella is a reasonable alternative to the tent that they aren't being allowed to put up.

you know what works really well to protect you from the weather? An umbrella and a coat! If they want to have a representative distributing info in the park, there's no reason they can't STAND in the park during park hours and dress appropriately for the weather.

My grandfather busted his ass to get out of his country and bring the rest of his family from Europe legally. I feel a little bad for this kid, America is the only home he has known but he's been here long enough that his parents should have taken steps to legalize the whole family. And he should have had the good sense to not get arrested! Geez!!

Those truck drivers that couldn't make their deliveries today probably made ZERO today and the longshoreman that they "stood in solidarity" with stayed home and still got paid.

This whole thing is really getting old. They need a focus. It seems like they're protesting anything and everything.

why are people TD this?? Seems logical. There was a natural gas explosion in Canby a couple of years ago, fortunately no one was hurt in that explosion. It's a shame that someone died :(

Why do all these clowns think EVERYTHING he does is on the taxpayer's dime? Google his last tax return - most the $$$ he makes is from his book sales. I think he can afford to go to a COLLEGE basketball game.
