Kerri,
Leave it to the children to always ask the questions we never think of!  I have a 9, 7 and 2 year old, and they often ask the best questions.

The Bible never addresses "happy tears", so I can't point you to any specific place in Scripture.  But, emotions too are from God, so I think I'd have to agree with your conclusion.  How could we NOT have happy tears when we reunite with all of our loved ones, and especially when we stand in the presence of Jesus.  My guess is that they'll be flowing freely!

And, the Bible doesn't say there won't be any tears . . . just that God will wipe them all away.  It's kind of a neat picture -- us bawling tears of joy like a little baby...and God embracing us with joy and laughter and wiping them all away as we meet him face to face.  Thanks for the mental picture.

Amen!  As Christians, funerals are definitely happy/sad occasions.  I love my life here and whatever it is that God has in store for me . . . but can't wait to join Layla and all the others at the throne of God.  What a day that will be!

Thanks George.  It resonated very powerfully with me last year.  After "pulling out all the stops" for many years, I found a richness and meaning in the simplicity of our barn worship that I truly love.  That being said, I think all the variety in approach and style ultimately is a good thing.  Different things will reach different people at different times in their life.  So long as it all points to Christ and what he has done for us, it's a good thing!

I look forward to continued conversations with you.  May God richly bless your Christmas this year.
