It's fun getting to Upton Park at the moment with the British Rail and District line closures. Never mind - at least we won. It wasn't looking very promising at half time and I generally agree with your match report. Pleased that Robbie Keane has been enlisted for the relegation battle.

Who is Mr Moon by the way?

On the plus side I like the comments in the KB article about DS's "passion, emotion and will to do the right thing for West Ham." I think that nicely summarises what we have seen this week.

As for the rest of the article....

Hopefully the bark of the "Stratford Bull Terrier" is going to be worse than her bite...

No doubt DS has been busy trying to wheel and deal today..

Gudjohnsen is likely to be one of the strikers at the top of Zola's wish list. I wonder if he is a target? RVN playing up front with Carlton Cole also sounds very promising but as you say £100k a week would represent a big gamble.

The Evening Standard have linked West Ham with Luke Young who they say would favour a move back to London, I think that would be a good signing.

Behrami - £15m? - that one is a difficult call.

DS/DG have certainly made a very promising start. I am impressed by the DS comments given in the article above. In theory a scheme allowing a consortium of fans to own 5%/10% of the shares(and a voice on the Board) sounds a great idea. In practice I am sure there will be lots of problems (and legal costs) setting this up, and from an investment point of view there would have to be a huge warning. Good luck if it can be done. Perhaps an ex player (Tony Cottee or Tony Gale for example?) can be involved to help promote it?

Whilst the club is in a financial mess, the new Board seem to have lots of passion.. Let's hope we can all share their dream....

Yes, looks like Fernandes has lost and DS/DG are the new owners (if the Daily Mail has got it right this time). Hopefully the saga is now over and the club can look forward to a much more positive future. £105million sounds a big investment to me. I do hope that as long as they give Zola a chance (and a January transfer pot), then the fans give them evey chance.

Oh dear... in the post match interview yesterday, Zola was hopeful there would be some positive news re the takeover today, but instead we get this...

Zola should definitely be given more time, whatever happens. He has been a great credit to the club in very difficult circumstances. Who knows what is going on:

There are conflicting reports as to whether Gold/Sullivan would retain him . I would like to think they would give him a chance. Fernandes is also a fan.

Another frightening possibility is that the takeover is not going to happen in January and the existing Board will need to sell one or more important players to balance the books, which in turn may lead to Zola leaving in similar circumstances to Curbishley. Anyway this is just speculation and until we know for sure I am going to hope the bookmakers have got it wrong.

If ithe article is right then ,"all that glistens is not Gold", but I think we will be much better off with the "devils we know". DG/DS are West Ham fans with a track record of running a premier league football club. They are also shrewd businessmen. Anne Summers and page 3 girls are probably a much safer bet than Icelandic banks, airlines, dubious cereal deals or unidentified bidders (I wonder what Joorabachin is up to these days?). Yes, it will still be tough but hopefully we will have stability, and be able to hang on to our best players. Something needs to happen quickly or the January transfer window and the chance to get another much needed striker will be missed. I wonder who is going to lead the line at Villa Park on Sunday.? Even Zola commented today that it is time that things were sorted. After theTevezgate and Curbishley cases, Karren Brady must be a safer option than the current CEO.

The fine for the crowd trouble seemed a bit low within the scheme of things, and won't be a deal breaker. Lets hope for some more good news soon.
