I wasn't trying to offend anyone. It is YOUR choice what you do with YOUR animals. But it has been proven time and time again that when you spay or neuter before sexual maturity (and even after) there are MANY "health benefits".

Echo, did you know that by spaying your girls before their first heat you reduce the chance of them having Mammary Cancer later in life by 90%? Even if you don\'t spay them before their first heat, you drastically reduce those risks, as well as the risk of them developing other forms of Cancer, not to mention spayed dogs are generally happier and healthier than intact dogs.

Trust me, they don\'t know the difference. And after putting my own dog down in October because she developed Mammary Cancer and wasn\'t spayed, it\'s just not worth it to me. Hindsight is 20/20, and looking back I would have rather paid the $40 and have my dog right now.

I'm right there with you on the military brat thing. ;)

I can't wait until you find out the sex! We're all girls too, I kind of hoped for a boy, but since it's foreign to me, and Zach is three hours away I was really happy we got a girl.

I've heard of gdiapers before, I just can't remember what it was...I'm perfectly happy with the sposies. They aren't environmentally friendly which sucks, but CD just wouldn't work for us. And we've found out only certain diapers work for Kenna anyway. :P

So happy you're back! Kenna will be coming with me to see New Moon. :) I will wait as long as possible to try to avoid the scary fan girls.

He knows the smoking and drinking are deal breakers. Last night he said he'd give up smoking to be with me, but I'm not convinced. Like I said to Damita above, I'm not a fan of how he acted while I was pregnant, but since then he's really made an effort. And I feel like if we were to try to work things out, he'd put forth more effort because we have Kenna now. I love that he's quit smoking for her. LOVE it. I've wanted him to quit since he started and he knew it. But it was ultimately up to him, and Kenna was the deciding factor. :)

I agree him not being around for the pregnancy still bugs me. But he was there for the birth, and ever since he's really made an effort. The way he's explained it he couldn't connect to the pregnancy. But he can connect to her now. A baby is something he can understand, and interact with.

I grew up in a house where the only time we ever saw our parents drink was new years eve. No one smoked except the grandparents and they did it outside and away from us. We didn't have soda. We didn't watch TV. That is pretty much what I want for Kenna. Jay does not agree one bit. It's definitely a problem, and something that I can see us fighting about, though ultimately these are mine and Zach's decisions. Divorce is not an option for me. So we need to get this figured out now.

Zach does have a girl friend, which is one thing I'm unsure about. She does not want kids or marriage ever, and that is pretty much everything Zach wants.I definitely won't ever be in a relationship just because of Kenna, but I do think having her is a good reason to think about trying to work things out.
