An excerpt is not "edited". "Edited" would mean they changed something in the tape. Stop lying and stop distorting the facts.

Often times, the side-effects are more important than what hits people in the face.

With something like this, we need to be asking ourselves "What lesson can be learned here" now that the story has taken on a life of its own. Once the video was posted, it went viral and predictably the overreactions came. Now the retractions are coming and the blame-game where people who overreacted and made asses of themselves try to blame everyone but themselves for their own actions.

It won't work.

Accidental or not, Breitbart hit a home run exposing just how a baseless accusation of racism can take on a life of its own and ruin someone immediately.

Hopefully, he will follow up on this and use it as an object lesson. We will have to wait and see.

It is sad that an innocent had to lose her job over this, but she isn't that innocent. Using phrases like "his own kind" shows she still has a lot of growing up to do.

Now, the way out for all of this is for the Obama Administration and the NAACP to retract and rescind. Admit they made an error, that they overreacted, and announce that "steps will be taken to ensure this does not happen again."

That would be the RIGHT thing to do.

There was no altered tape. There was a clip from a tape and the clip was unaltered. If the tape was altered, that would mean voiceovers, changes in picture, perhaps a few Klingons lurking in the shadows.

Stop trying to blame someone else for the fact that people overreacted and got stupid.

You're missing the lesson entirely here. Think about it. The whole thing was an overreaction, just like YOU are overreacting.

Step back and think about it, just like the others who made bad decisions should have done before firing their guns.

Is it Breitbart's fault? Not at all. People independently made their own decisions. Blame the NAACP for overreacting. Blame the Obama administration for overreacting. Blame yourself for overreacting.

But that is the society we live in, people. Ready, fire, aim is the rule when it comes any HINT or allegation of "racism" out there.

THAT is the lesson and THAT is what we as a society need to correct. Instead of just shooting first and asking questions later, as a society we need to ask questions FIRST and then take appropriate action.

People are missing the point here. What Breitbart has done is to expose the "witch hunt" mentality surrounding an accusation of racism. With nothing more than a snippet of video and a comment that it shows "racism" at an event, the Powers That Be rushed to crucify an individual rightly or wrongly.

THAT is the real story. The rest is just window dressing.
