"Where do these views put me on the political spectrum"?

Insufficient data...how about things you might be for that Muslims are for...

NC) How about addressing the points I actually make instead of constructing a straw man to attack? Well, in any case ...

1) Celebrating multiculturalism (and the cultural relativism that forms its essence)?

NC) I think some cultures are better than others. The West is better precisely because women and gays have more rights in Western societies, individuals can express themselves, and religion is not forced on anyone (by and large at least). Liberal ideas and ideals were born and guarded in the West, and true liberals acknowledge that instead of hating themselves.

2) Opposition to "racial" (read: religious) profiling?

NC) Some groups of people are more likely to commit certain kinds of crimes than others. It doesn't make sense to strip search white grannies. On the other hand, over-emphasis on profiling can make it easier for wrongdoers to skirt it. Profiling shouldn't be taboo, but our security needs to be clever.

3) Opposition to American "imperialism" (the projection of American power into areas of the world to protect our national security)?

NC) Just about any place that was formerly a colony of a Western power is better off for the experience. That doesn't make every event that happened under imperialism ok, but it was better for history that the West were the imperialist rather than any other culture.

4) Opposition to Israel's continued "occupation" of disputed territory in the absence of a bona fide peace?

NC) I think Israel should take back the land it gained in 1967.

5) Opposition to Israel's right to aggressively defend itself from attack?

NC) I only WISH Israel would respond "disproportionately."

6) Support for the narrative of 'Palestinianism', where the conflict in the Middle East in seen through the prism of Palestinian victimization?

NC) Even if "Palestinians" were a real ethnicity, the ones who identify as such in the present day have proven repeatedly that they don't deserve self-determination.

7) Opposition to free market solutions to the problems that afflict our society?

NC) Finally a gotcha. Unfettered free market is no better than statism. The US has had a good balance on free vs regulated markets through most of its history.

8) Support for "hate crimes" legislation and racial quotas that elevate the status of certain people - based on race, religion, gender, or sexual preference - over others.

NC) I am against prosecuting thought. Edit: and I believe in rewarding merit only.

I'm sure there are other pertinent questions I've overlooked, but for now, an honest response to these questions will be quite revealing.

NC) I answered. Now I would like to see your views on such things as gay rights and prayer in school.

Thanks.

NC) You're quite welcome.

By the way, the essay is by Hugh Fitzgerald. I won't deny that he seems to lean right, but I also understand that he is an atheist, which in part demonstrates Robert Spencer's policy of inclusion.

Things I am for that Muslims are against:

Equal rights for homosexuals (including "marriage").
Equal rights for all women.
Absolute (or damn near it) freedom of expression (e.g. no laws against blasphemy).
Freedom from compulsion in religion, and freedom from endorsement of religion by my government.
Scientific education, especially in biology.

Where do those views put me on the American political spectrum?

I usually respect Robert's actions even when I don't agree with every one of his opinions, so I hope he didn't delete the blog post out of embarrassment at going off half-cocked. Isn't deleting a blog post a no-no in the blogosphere?

The tarting up of the little girls like JonBenet (I refuse to use the superfluous and ostentatious accent aigu) is bad enough to warrant a condemnation, while acknowledging that a sick minority of Patsy Ramseys do exist in America.

I suspect I was right in my comment on that post:

"As we have seen in KSA and Yemen recently, Muslim men do rape girls as young as 8 and call it marriage, just like Muhammad (pigshit be upon him) did. However, "The 450 brides shared none of the glamour, taking seats among the audience of around 1,000 party guests" makes me think that the young girls in this ceremony are not the actual brides. Subtitles would have been nice."

I bet it wasn't what it seemed. Robert should clarify.

His rep exceeded Intensedebate's negative number size and it wrapped back around to the positive due to two's complement.
