I did not realize that the entire, unedited Couric-Palin interview had been released, but it must have been for Wehner to conclude that it showed that she was out of her depth on the national stage. Where can I find it?

Palin should have not made that tweet and Wehner should not have made this post.

I have relatives who live in Chicago. They think it is the greatest place in the U.S. and pity those of us who do not live there. But they have never lived anywhere else and have no basis for comparing life there with life elsewhere.

Except she is not as wrong as you and most other people who do not know American history think she is. Revere was captured by the British, interrogated at gunpoint, and told them that they would be meeting armed resistance. So he did warn them. Did you know that part of the story?

You can read about his ride in his own words at http://www.masshist.org/database/img-viewer.php?i...

We will see the full, unedited Palin-Couric interview about the same time as Obama releases his academic records.

Obama's strength is that he knows how to campaign--he really does not know anything else. You say, "The President is choosing both a policy path and a campaign strategy." Maybe it is only a campaign strategy with little or no thought about its policy implications.

You are assuming that this reaction on the part of the media was calculated, that they knew that they were spreading falsehoods in an attempt to destroy their ideological opponents. I think rather it is a result of living in a bubble of perception divorced from reality. The media and elite Left really do believe that conservatives are ignorant and violence-prone ("they cling to guns or religion," as one of them said) and hence their immediate impulse on hearing about a crime that could have political motives is to blame the right. That perception is re-enforced by group think that exists when there is no diversity of opinion, a condition common in newsrooms and academic institutions. The Left clamors for a more civil discourse, but there can be no civil discourse when the Left does not regard the other side as legitimate, and the Left does not consider opposition legitimate because it perceives the right as ignorant and violence-prone. What a more civil discourse means to to those on the Left is that they talk and the others remain silent.

Kos may have flushed the entry about the Palin pregnancy down the memory hole, but you can see it here, captured from the Google cache: http://ingrimayne.com/spp/sarahPalinPregnant.html

A link to a Google cache copy of the Kos dairy that started the whole Palin birthism dementia but was deleted when the Daily Kos realized how embarrassing it was can be found here:
cybereconomics.blogspot.com/2008/09/that-was-fast.html
(It does not have all the comments, but enough to give the flavor what the people were thinking.)
I saved a copy because it is a bit of history. Save you own bit of history that was flushed down the memory hole.

"[Y]our opponents will not just argue against you, they will do all they can to ransack your private life, cull your email in-tray, and use whatever material they have to unleash the moronic hounds of today’s [left]-wing base."

One little directional change and it applies perfectly to what happened to Sarah Palin, with Andrew Sullivan leading the charge.
