George, I'm with ya brother, but if you see strains of libertarianism in the tea party movement that's all you see -- strains. The movement started in '07 was co-opted in '09 by "mainstream" republicanism. I have no qualms with our local republican creed -- they just don't follow it and only pay lip service to it!

Ron Paul himself has nothing to lose -- he's always stood against the establishment and if people choose to take it out on Rand and he's unable to make a name and a stand for himself -- so be it!

Up until now, I have been against RP making the 3rd party run (even though I voted CP last time around) but I agree with Justin -- NOW is the time.

nominating Rick Perry makes absolutely no sense at all! Rick Perry is more of the same -- just paid for by a different set of lobbyists.

So should we advocate bombing China or Cuba? I still don't understand your position... can you expound?

Yikes -- you admit that you subscribe to the Bush Doctrine of pre-emptive war?? Sorry I even engaged. Pardon me...

you didn't answer my question... what governance policy has come out of DC in the last 50 years that you support??

or more simply... list the policies that the conservatives you support in this election cycle need to implement to restore this country to peace and prosperity.

Wow -- sounds like you're as dumbfounded as I am by the majority of comments here??? BIG GOVERNMENT regulars really do believe in the "mission" of "spreading democracy", yes??

"Paul supporters aren't attacking the messenger or the message out of allegiance to Paul, but out of a moral obligation to voice opposition to malicious and misinformed policies and ideas that are ruining this country."

Rock ON Gail (or GailsBanner -- whichever of you posted it!)

In my opinion this was the most ludicrous paragraph of the article -- I had to check if I was reading satire!! Are you guys serious?? What color is the sky in your world??

Great points made!

I shyed away from the "L" label because there does seem to be some "haphazardness" as to how "liberty" principles are defined for pre-born life, but your pro-life statement rang completely true to me! If that truly were a Libertarian tenet, I think I could proudly wear the "L". Alas it is not and as mentioned in a previous post I've had to make the decision before and I fault no one for their choices.

So I voted CP last time around -- and if Ron Paul is not the R nominee, I probably will again.

Finally -- a rational thinker! A government BY the people and for the people!

Ron Paul is all about personal choices and letting the people within the states decide what is right for their communities! If there is a national threat, we can come together as voluntarily as Americans, not as coerced wards of the state!
