Next time, just keep the dog if the owner will let you. Avoid officials. Take the dog to your vet. Pay for the work. You'll be happier, the dog will be happier (and live), and the officials will just continue drawing their salaries "processing animals".

Add Bellingham to Des Moines as a city I'll never bring my Newfies to. As usual, there will be no consequences for those who "serve and protect", and do so with reckless abandon.

Rabid argument: inane. It's not an instantaneous event.
Argument Pd is right unless we're there: doesn't allow for any post-shooting analysis and assumes 100% compliance with policies and procedures. I can name countries where that view might prevail, but not this one.
