Funny how so many "technical errors" result in noncompliance and things going MS's way... and this from the smartest people in the universe! Bridge for sale!

Johnson doesn't even know enough to understand that "environmental impact studies" and "SEPA compliance" mean the same thing...

Maybe some of them ARE looking out for the community, a community that got financially hosed with the Kingdome, Safeco and what's its name today?

I think your basis of population comparison is a bit off. Looking merely at the cities' populations isn't a full take. The Boston teams' market is all of New England except for the southwestern part nearer New York. The population base is about 14 million. Seattle/Portland is about 5 million - throw in Spokane and even Boise (a stretch) and a tad for Vancouver and take away a bit for the Blazers and maybe you have 6 million. In addition, I would venture that proportionately there are a lot fewer spectator-sport-oriented people here in the Northwest than in New England. Lastly, I would imagine the chronic out-of-contention status of Seattle's teams might be a factor in the difference of support. Somehow Boston/New England doesn't seem to have that problem - the Celtics, Patriots, RedSox and Bruins are all professionally run, win more often than lose as a result, and draw accordingly. Beaners wouldn't put up with the sports incompetence prevalent here, particularly if they were subsidizing it! Mariners management should be ashamed that more RedSox fans show up than Mariners fans when the Sox are in town!

Then send your support dollars to Mr. Hansen, because he's pleading that free enterprise doesn't pencil out and he needs a public sugar daddy, just like Mr. Allen and Mssrs. Yamauchi, Larsen, Crocodile Tears Ellis et al. before him. I agree with you, there's "nothing like free enterprise." Get after it freely!

This is a private business that wants to suck at the public teat. I have no problem with billionaires having their playthings on their own nickel, but resent their constantly looking for subsidies. And the politicians who seem so eager to roll over for them...

This has got to be the dumbest article ever written. And I couldn't agree with you less.
