This is very sad. Shows a very deep degree of meanness.

Let's be realistic: Nations don't have permanent friends, they have permanent interests.

To pretend otherwise is childish.

Indeed, unquestioning "friendship" is not always the best for anyone: Had Tony Blair pushed back a bit harder, instead of "holding Bush's jacket for him", the US might not have entered into the disastrous Iraq war - when there were no WMD there.

This sounds like a great time to buy a Toyota: Prices will be down.

Remember when Intel chips had a floating-point arithmetic problem? Stock dropped by 50% - for a month or so. But PCs were locked into Intel architecture, so it went back up.

Toyota still has great quality and well-thought-out features for its cars. This is upsetting for them, but it's just a bump in the road.

Hey guys,

The point of making a statement is to impact the listeners in IRAN, not in the US.

For the President of the US to take a strong position when the facts are not rock-solid means that it could very easily be spun around, the way Castro spun the US antagonism towards him into the claim that: "All Cuba's problems come from the US, and I, Fidel Castro, am your sole protector against the US!"

It worked for Fidel. There's no reason to help out the mullahs' regime in Iran in the same way.

Even if Obama beats his chest and says, "Up yours', mullahs!", what would that accomplish? What matters is what's going on at ground-level in Tehran.

Chill, guys: There's enough excitement for now. The time to act is when it HELPS, not just because you're upset. Everybody is upset, all the time...

What you say would be valid except that being a prostitute is still a crime, so the girls have no recourse.

If they just decriminalized prostitution, it would be safer for everyone.

It is very interesting that China is demanding a 40% reduction in CO2 emissions from the developed countries, but not putting down a number for itself.

It looks like the first move in negotiating a number for themselves at the international meeting in Copenhagen, and they don't want to show their hand too early. I guess they will propose a reduction in the neighborhood of 40%, but slightly less: maybe 35%.

Obama derangement syndrome in full force at this website, I observe.

GOPers sinking ever deeper into an ever smaller echo chamber, only increasing in irrelevancy to the American electorate.

Specter has switched before, in 1965.

According to Nate Silver, Toomey's plan to run against Specter would have likely resulted in 1) Toomey beating Specter; and 2) the Democrat beating Toomey; due to the "blueing" of Pennsylvania.

Now, I think it is likely that Specter will beat Toomey without much trouble.

Sounds like another paranoid episode on your part. Meds, jeepy, meds.

I don't watch TV normally. Watching the excerpt of Beck was enough to upset my stomach. He just gave off this slimy oleaginous impression.
