Oh, you mean you don't like the lighting being realistic? :(

Seriously, why is this even being talked about. So, the company that has the number 1 Console in the world, and the company who has the number 1 handheld in the world, is no longer a game company? Wait a second.

Since when did taking the number one spot mean you are no longer a game company. Oh wait, because they did it with motion controls and weaker hardware? That is where I think this article is stemming from.

Sure, he mentions games as the reason, or games that are not games. Last i checked, Wii Sports is a game. You are simulating playing actual sports, such as golf, boxing, bowling, etc. Just like playing tiger woods golf, or some of the other sports titles out there that are considered games. The difference? It's more arcade style, more focused on fun then realism. Ok, wii sports aside.

Wii fit? Woo,t hey release a highly successful workout simulator that actually... works. Ok, so maybe to most this isn't a game, but it is simulating an actual workout. It makes working out fun. But wait, thats not a game, so Nintendo is no longer a game company.

Alright, time to look at what you would prolly consider "games", since you seem so focused on the more family oriented stuff:

Twilight Princess - yeah thats a title that isn't a game right? Oh wait it's just a rehash... i see.
Excite Bot - Oh wait, too casual for you? It's what Mario Kart Wii SHOULD be. I believe that is considered a game no?
Super Smash Bros Brawl - If you can look me in the face and tell me this isnt a serious game from nintendo, then you should be shot.
Super Mario Galaxy - Possibly the best mario since Mario 64, and possibly the best mario game to date.
Metroid Prime 3 - You want FPS, Nintendo gave you a fps. A damn good one at that.

Oh wait, you want other stuff. 3rd party titles coming:

Broken Sword: Shadow of hte Templars
Madworld
The Conduit

And there are a lot more for both 3rd parties and Nintendo I am not even listing. But wait, they aren't a game company, because they actually turn a significant profit with every game console and every game they make.

Wait a second. Fun fact: Did you know nintendo is the only game company to not have a "negative" year, as in, a loss of income? Amazing. No, it isn't in the graphics war, it's in the game war. Nintendo said from the get go with the Wii it's goal was to focus on the player, and to focus on the game, not to focus on the graphics. And for all the bashing the wii gets, it's actual power is slightly more then the original xbox, which if you go back and look, there top titles would still look good in today's new technology.

I understand if motion controls are not for you. That can be a major deterent for the wii, because you tried it and didn't like it (to be fair, I don't know anyone who has actually touched a wii who didn't walk away admitting they had a lot of fun, which is the point of playing games to begin with).

What I am getting at here is what several others have gotten at: Nintendo is not only a game company, they are possibly the BEST game company there is. Most other company's (outside of EA), really bank hard on that one franchise. Wether it's GTA, Final Fantasy, or Halo, most major companies bank hard on one game. Meanwhile, Nintendo has Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Pikmin, Donkey Kong, Super Smash Bros, just to name a few, and are constantly coming up with new franchises. Animal Crossing is rather recent, as is pikmin. Sure, their casual games dominate the charts because they are fun.

You can complain about all the fodder, but in the end, every console has it. Presently, Sony doesn't even MAKE games. Where is their game developers? And Microsoft? They just keep making PC game ports. Nintendo is the only company of the three console companies that can actually fully support itself. It can make it's own consoles, and make it's own games, and survive solely off that. Without third parties, the xbox 360 and ps3 would be dead. Don't believe me? Ask yourselfs hard if xbox is around with halo.

Nintendo wouldn't be around with Mario, Donkey Kong, and Zelda. THis is a fact. What is also a fact? Nintendo created those games, not a third party. As in, Nintendo from the get go was always the main, and the best, producer of games for their console. Until someone can prove otherwise, Nintendo is one of the best game producing companies in existence.

Also, one name just needs to be mentioned to defunk your whole argument: Shigeru Myiamoto. Go ahead and tell him he isn't a game developer.

Look - Link being in love has been debated so many times it's almost overplayed. However, when it comes to twilight Princess it is pretty obvious where this question goes. At the start of the game, it's pretty obvious that Link really likes Illia.

As the game progresses, and Illia loses her memory, Link begins to get really close with Midna. Once Midna's true form is unveiled, it's pretty obvious Link is completely enamored with her. When she breaks the mirror and heads back to the twilight Realm, Link is heart broken.

Zelda makes no sense in TP to be a love for link. Link has hardly any interaction with her at all, and most serious moment in the game when Link is around Zelda is to save his friend's, Midna, life.

Oh, and this piece needs more imagery. Too much of "wall of text" for my liking.
