Are you a teacher? If you were you could actually get what was trying to be said.

Teachers do supplement education, but like you said, you were lucky. You are the exception to the many children who have no parental involvement at all. Remember that before you start speaking about teachers not being important.

I would like to see this same philosophy applied to parenting. Prove you're a good parent and I'll let you keep your kid.

Well said! It is so easy for people who do not know what educators go through to spout off ignorance. I would like to see many of these people walk a day in a teachers shoes and THEN hear what they have to say.

Actually, educators do not work for YOU, they work for the children and their education. It is that elitist attitude that produces the children we are ashamed of.

Since when is a child considered a product. Maybe to parents who spend less than 4 hours a day ACTUALLY interacting with their children. It is actually educators that spend over 8 hours a day with these kids. But lets blame them for wanting some sort of compensation for helping raise our future leaders, doctors, teachers, etc. It never fails that Republicans are quick to place blame on something they do not agree with.
