Everybody says that it won't be possible to unlock the iPhone ever again if you upgrage to 3.1 through iTunes, since the baseband will be updated and it won't be possible any more to change it again. But what about the new iPhones that come with the brand new baseband out-of-the-factory? If it's true what everybody is saying, then it won't be possible to unlock the iPhones any more... Has anybody any RELIABLE information to share with us?
Today I imported all my sim contacts to my brand new iPhone 3GS (with firmware 3.0, jailbreaked and unlocked) and then realized that it was the false SIM. So to delete all the contacts i tried to reset it from the settings. It didn't work, I only got an Apple logo with a frozen loading display. So i activated the DFU mode and tried to restore 3.0 again, but i didn't work, since Apple blocks it anyway and only allows to install 3.1 :( I tried everything, it didn't work. The iPhone wasn't starting and there was no chance to restore the old software again. SO I UPGRADED IT TO 3.1 USING ITUNES...... :(( Now, there is no chance for me to unlock it again. But I REALLY would like to now if there will be a chance someday to do it, just like thousand of others claiming about the issue... Please Dev-Team, please tell us at least if this might be possible some day. Thank you...
