Thanks. I wish that I had the same sense when I was a youngster. Of course, things were a lot different then. Kids still went outside to play, and came home at the signal of the streetlights kicking on. But I do remember, even in recent years, just staring at that TV and not even realizing why I was watching it. It is quite hypnotizing....and zombifying...if you will. The sooner more people snap out of the trance, the better off we will be. I think we've made a lot of progress in the last few years. More people are waking up, that is.
Ironically, the very administration that is trying to destroy our way of life, seems to be the spark people needed to start saving it.

Smart Move! We actually canceled our CABLE about 9 years ago. We still have cable internet, and get everything we need in that manner. It dawned on us a long time ago that television is the cancer that is destroying our American families. I think it was the best decision that we ever made in raising our (now 15 yr. old) daughter. She consistently gets straight A's, and actually reads books of her own free will.
Seriously folks. It may seem like you cannot live without it, but you really do get over it. It will improve your life enormously. There are other ways to get the programs that you'd really like to see. STOP SUPPORTING THESE ASSHATS!!! I also believe that HBO does put their money behind some VERY GOOD productions. "Band of Brothers" and "John Adams" being some fine examples. So, it's not all bad. But like I said, there are other ways to view this type of programming these days. Or, you could always wait for the DVD.
At the very least, just think before you pick up that remote. Don't fall into their "Bread and Circuses" trap of mindlessly flipping and staring at that box.
