In doing her taxes, my 21-year-old daughter came upon the make work pay deal and didn't want to participate in redistributing wealth so paid a couple hundred dollars instead of getting any back. Now she's reading that the government might redo everyone's taxes that didn't take it because "they were confused." My daughter (and her 17-year-old sister did the same) isn't confused, she was making a statement. This same daughter refused social security money when she was 17 and her father went on disability from Viet Nam agent orange. She had to go in and sign that she knew what she was doing. The lady had NEVER had anyone refuse government money before. She was flabbergasted. If there were more like my daughter, this country would be a better place.
