This is what I'm afraid of. "don't sell yourself short or think you can fool your heart into being satisfied on a diet."
Thank you, and I hope you find what you need too.

OT-y but y'know. Yesterday my dude (6 months??) and I a lil heart to heart where he let me know he wasn't really ready for having a more emotionally deep relationship. Which I knew was coming (didn't stop me from dreaming that the conversation would be more "I'm only pulling away because I love you so much and I adore you and I want to run away with you and become birds") We decided to Not Break Up because we've got a Pretty Good and Nice Thing going on. But I'm going to back off and want less or whatever and he's going be better at communicating that he needs space or whatever. I feel good about it, I think, but I also feel potentially foolish as fuck for not being like "If you can't handle me at my I'm Healing From Trauma you don't deserve me at my Loving and Fun 2 Be Around"
idk idk idk idk

I call it Sally Ann's and I'm in America! But from a west coast Canadian family, and have never heard another American call it Sally Ann. I thought it was generational. Maybe not!

I have the Nexplanon (I got it in January) and on one hand, I love how secure and safe it makes me feel. Pretty much the lowest chance of failing, even compared to IUDs. And its progestin only instead of a combo BC. It was SO EASY to get, basically no pain but a wicked bruise (they do use a needle to numb you so if needles are a thing....) And I can freak out my friends by making them touch it.

BUT

I got to protect me from babies (yay!) but mainly to help with my really, really awful periods. They told me this would stop my period. But it hasn't. In fact, after getting it, I spotted heavily for 3 and a half months straight. Then stopped for a month. Then I got my period again. And then it stopped for a week. And then started again for a week. And now I'm here writing this. My periods aren't AS bad as they were (I no longer miss work due to pain/exhaustion) but like...... they said they would stop... and they haven't... I think I've gained a little weight on it but my skin is mainly better (but it wasn't that bad before).

When I'm camping and backpacking I'm often in pack it in-pack it out situations. I bring sealable ziplocks, TP, wet wipes (very sensitive ones!) and a small square of old t-shirt. OB style tampons if you use tampons. It all adds weight and clutter but its not very smelly. I use a cup now, and that helps things a lot! Unless you're in bear country. Store your supplies like you would all your other scented items (locked up away from you, not in the car) if you're in bear country and if you use a cup, don't dump it anywhere near your campsite. (moment of silence for 14 year old mothmom who backpacked through yellowstone bear country on her period, while reading a book about ways people had died in the park, like menstruating women eaten by bears)
