On the bright side, if there can be one, maybe the poison ivy taking over the bottom half of that hike won't come back?

I read that part, that he said it might make him more depressed, as a sort of threat.
I also see his obsession with KC Becker as a threat, and apparently so did an expert, the police, and a judge. End of story.

I think it is important that someone keep an eye on the council being buddy-buddy with developers and others who have vested interest on council votes. It is, Seth, it's very important.
But it doesn't seem like you're really doing the right thing with that information. Harassing council won't get you positive reactions and help from the citizens who could be on your side with the information you have.
Just sayin'.

I hope they did get the lowest bidder, as required by law.
However, I think that it will be a costly renovation. Walking into that dorm is like a trip to early last century. Since most of the campus heat works on a boiler system, those antiquated registers they mentioned in the article are going to be a huge cost to replace. And they really should - Baker is the first dorm on the track from the campus energy plant, and those old registers have no thermostats. Walk by during a cold night in January, and you're likely to see a lot of those single pane windows wide open to balance the sauna inside. So I can see where a lot of the money would have to go right off the bat.
Not to mention preserving the history of the building while doing a remodel is often straight up more expensive than knocking it over and starting over.

Shy-ho was remodeled, Baker was not.
My room was on the second floor over-looking Farrand Field. We invested in earplugs.

Oh, like this one?
http://articles.nydailynews.com/2012-04-04/news/3...
"Only now, more than four months after the fact, have authorities finally agreed to convene a grand jury to determine if the cops committed a crime."

Possibly only because the Martin case was getting so much attention did Democracy Now run a story about this. After public outcry, it was announced 4/4 that a grand jury would be convened. Otherwise, this story of cop shooting an unarmed black guy quite possibly would have gone un-prosecuted.
It is true: You had better woop and holler and get a lot of people on the internet outraged if you are a minority and a crime is committed against you in this country. Otherwise, who can say whether justice will be served?

When I read the above story, I find myself shaking with rage, just like after the fourmile fire when we found out a volunteer firefighter decided it would be a good time to burn some branches, after more than a month without rain, when waiting until rain or snow fell would have been not only smart, but not really an inconvenience either.
So, WHO THE HE** starts a controlled burn during a month that looks to be the driest March on record? I thought these were supposed to be the experts! Just unacceptable. Was there nothing else to do that day that didn't involve starting fires after it's been so hot, dry, and windy? It just starts to feel like the government has a list of things to get done, and just goes down the list doing them without looking out the freakin' window, looking at the rainfall amounts, looking at weather conditions... this could have waited until after some rain had fallen. It was just stupid and reckless not to wait for the right conditions to do a controlled burn! I want to hear that as part of a real apology.
As mentioned above, this is at least the third time a huge wildfire has broken out in the last decade in Colorado that was STARTED BY FIREFIGHTERS or other forest service officials. It really starts to look like we're dealing with officials with a god complex, sure that they can always beat nature, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. And the rebuffed 911 calls by residents? You know what? The people living up there aren't stupid, but they were sure treated as such by the 911 operators, who I'm sure were just acting on the information received from the fire 'authorities', and people lost their lives for it!
The apology just doesn't cut it this time.

You could have spent 2 minutes seeing if your bias is fact. It is not. It is bias.

-1947 Partition of India: millions of Muslims, Hindus and Sikhs killed
-Mentioned by kalubifak: Serbian Christians killing and dispersing tens of thousands of Bosniaks.
-The christian-Nazi genocide of Jews and non-Christians
-The ongoing death-toll of Palestians, killed by Jews.
--The list goes on..

Relgious extremism is a problem. Period. Be it Muslim, Chrisitan, or Jewish extremism.
