This story did end happily and I'm sure the parents and the babysitter are overwhelmed with joy that the little boy is back home safe. However, it should not have happened!!! It doesn't matter who was at fault. Kids will be kids and as adults it is our job to keep them safe. Pay attention people and learn from your mistakes. .

If Charlie only has two losses and gets a bowl game he will stay..The real test will be next week against Boston college if it starts spiraling out of control and they get more losses he will be in the hot seat.....Two losses to the 2 most win ingest college football teams in history doesn't hurt so bad getting crushed by B.C. year in and year out does..

I bet the uniform included a tie, but of a different color. What is wrong with the world today? Pink, orange, blue. Does it really matter to the management? Let the guy show his support weather it's October, November, or any other month. At least he was wearing a tie and the rest of the required uniform. I bet he's not the first one to wear the "non standard" tie to work. With all those Christmas ties that blink and sparkle. I can almost gaurentee that he was being targeted when this happened.

I don't know about you guys, but if I was working at a bar, on the west side of South Bend at 1 0'clock in the morning and I got robbed, I would probably be scared of being shot or killed. I doubt I would remember any details either.

Everyone in Clay Township needs to keep their homes & vehicles locked!!! The stateline area especially!! Wasn't it just last week that I read about the same area being hit by burglers stealing wheels off of cars? It sounds to me like these are the same guys. Back in August the R&B car lot on 933 was targeted too. They stole all 4 wheels off a car in their lot and left it on blocks.

It's amazing that she knows that she is responsible to get her child to school. Too bad she ISN'T responsible enough to spend school nights with her child so that in the morning she can be a mother to him. There are a lot of parents like the one in this story that need to relize that there is a time and a place for everything, including partying.

People are crazy!!! I will never understand how anyone could kill an innocent baby. Sounds like he was pretty PO'd with the babys mother, but to kill the child because of it is down right insane. I hope the mother knows that she is not to blame. The only one that is guilty here is the jerk that pulled the trigger.

A policemans job is never done. They are sworn to serve & protect. This duty can occur while on or off the clock. I agree that this story is a prime example of why police officers should continue driving their squad cars even while "off the clock".
