I love it. Register with the city if you are breaking the law so they can decide what to do about you. What?

How about passing REASONABLE laws? Isn't this the PURPOSE of a legislative body?

And again, they plea with CU to "build more housing'? Where?

Some of the comments I've read in articles about the VW debacle are crazy. People are whining that they feel betrayed because they thought their VW was a warm and fuzzy environmentally benign choice. Hello? You bought a DIESEL car thinking it was environmentally sane? Even with faux-urine injection and scrubbers, the average 4 cylinder diesel pollutes much more than even a V8 gas engine. That's why they have totally different emission standards and testing for diesels.

Thinking of buying an electric car? Well, since most of the electricity in Boulder comes from fossil fuels, that isn't really all that green, either:

Ride your bike? Consider all of the inputs. That beef, bean and cheese burrito contributed to global warming when the cows were fed and slaughtered, the beans planted with petroleum based fertilizer and harvested with diesel tractors, and the cheese was made. Not to mention the methane emissions as you ride down the road.

If someone is deprived of their life and liberty by a government entity, and thus commit suicide, who is at fault?

Clearly the cabal must go. They have no shame, they are totally transparent in their collusion against the very citizens they are supposed to represent. Whose ethics would allow a city council member to join forces with developers in contributing money against a citizen's initiative? Only in Boulder with its sheeplike-citizenry could elected officials get away with that. Oh, or maybe in Venezuela or Zimbabwe.

Boulder City Council = Fascist Dictatorship by committee.

The dominance of the Erie hierarchy may cause me to start shooting in a historical video game.

Oh CRAP! Now I'm a suspect! But no, you morons may not enter my house without a warrant.

I think they should propose an Office Max, a Builder's Square, and a CompUSA.

There are some huge Cottonwoods along the ditch there, so I propose "Cottonwood Crossing". Of course, there are almost certainly 10 other "Cottonwood Crossings" in Colorado, but that doesn't seem to matter. There are only so many cutesy names available that represent what was paved over.

"Sure, but it's also not equal density from Pueblo all the way to Cheyenne either. Most people live and work in cities, so designing a system that works for most people is pretty reasonable."

Most people live and work in incorporated areas, yes, but they live and work in DIFFERENT incorporated areas. I guess you missed the memo that Boulder has a population of just over 100,000 but 60,000 in-commuters and 10,000 outcommuters? Do the math on that.

The percentage of people in Colorado who work within three miles of their home is a small fraction of the number in Denmark. I see the same thing as blunderdome - I can count on the fingers of one hand the co-workers who live within three miles of where I work, but there are *hundreds* who live further away, including some who commute over 60 miles each way.

Wasting $100 Million on more green paint and bollards is stupid. Where is the money coming from? Do you realize the the entire US-36 debacle of being sold to a foreign company was triggered by a $25 Million shortfall out of a $700 Million project? Where was Hickenlooper's pocketbook then?

A few key connectors would make a huge difference in the bike infrastructure, but $100 Million is insane.
