No one here is arguing with you. That is the person I would like to talk to. I am appalled that we are still having this discussion. Not you..but America. Ignorance is NOT bliss. A lot of kids will have sex. So the least we can do is prepare them, get them to think about it, talk about it and for some, prepare for it. I remember taking a young man to shop for his first condom. He was having sex, his friends were getting their girlfriends pregnant and he didn't want to be part of that. We talked for a long time and with permission from his mom I took him to the store. I would rather do that than shop for baby clothes when he was 16.

This is amazing. I hadn't seen or heard of this before. I've always known that if learning is fun it's easier for children to "get it". But people still want to cut art and music programs. Educating the adults and the parents seems to be as important as educating our children.

But of course! We were watching all the trailers and getting excited for months. We own the Iron Man DVDs, the Hulk DVDs...yes, even the "bad" one, and well, we are a "comic book family". We love Marvel. ____Our daughter is 17 so we don't have to worry too much about what she sees...we do try to keep her from the gruesome and gore. She saw this on opening weekend with friends and then on Mother's Day weekend with us. You are right about Black Widow. I appreciate the strong women roles without being too sexy.____And yes, they are like us...just super powerful.

One day I had the TV off and was listening to music when my daughter came home. I can't tell you how differently the afternoon progressed. We didn't become lumps in chairs watching a rerun. Our moods were different and we did things together...communicated more, even if it was while doing some laundry or making dinner together. Now I try to turn that television off more. It helps my mood... one of my favorite saying is the one mentioned: It’s not what happens to you, it’s what you do about it.

It's a good time to think about this. My daughter and I usually have at least one movie we go to...just us before the summer is over. And we have at least one major thing we want to try baking each summer...something like the souffle last year. She is getting her license this summer and we are also starting a workout routine. She wants to volunteer for some organizations and look for a job so it will be a busy time.

“As a parent, you can’t get on their roller coaster.” Boy, is that the truth and one lesson I wish I could learn. For anything. Not just my daughter's sports or plays or concerts...but just her life. LOL

My daughter has given desk supplies, gift cards, made flower pots and given plants and donated money to the classroom. It's always nice to have different ways to show appreciation.

Normally I would say this is extreme punishment but these kids seem like exceptions to the rule. I would suspect that therapy is needed and should be ordered.
