How funny, as a little girl, I didn't like dolls. I was a tomboy. Now, I have a little 7 year old girl who could not be more "girlie." I remember cringing when she recieved her first Barbie, but I didn't say a word. I was also taken back when she would search my closet for high heels, only to find flip flops and birkenstocks. She was also taken back, "Where are your heels Mommy?"

I have always embraced our differences. It makes me laugh and smile to know that she is only being who she truly is, heels, dresses, tiaras and all! She even has her own heels now that I bought! I know, don't shoot me! I just want her to be whoever she wants to be (within reason.)

Parenting is often one big guilt trip! "Don't eat that! Don't watch that! yada yada yada...."

I try not to sweat the small stuff and love and embrace my two little ones often!

p.s. not be hypocritical.....but I do draw the line at Bratz dolls :)
