Ghosn made the comment several months ago that the only reason Nissan developed the Leaf was because of government funds-this answers the question. After the election, our new President will open up drilling for oil and the price of gas will drop making electric cars even harder to sell. GM's Volt never would have happened if the government wasn't running the company. The clowns from the government and the clowns that now run GM seem hell bent on spending as much of our money as possible on Volt before the new president comes in and hopefully brings reason back to our economy.
