I certainly agree with the spirit of the article, but WRT #7, as someone who went through a college ROTC program, I think I was more "liberalized" than the college was "militarized." I believe the benefits of having an officer corps that comes out of our universities AND military academies outweigh the negative impacts of ROTC programs at colleges.
