They are not for me, but how about we let everyone else make up their own minds about that, instead of trying to make it for them?

Indeed, all these people in London paying 40% of their incomes towards huge mortgages have a vote - and they won't vote for someone who raises interest rates pushing them into insolvency.

The madness is that because of low interest rates people have to put their money somewhere other than a savings account, and one popular investment is buy-to-let housing... pushing prices further up, making it more politically important to keep interest rates low - a vicious circle.

If I was in Government and I had some political opponents upsetting me, it would be quite convenient to give them a criminal record, to get rid of them. I'm sure all the convicted fleggers (or people up in court, such as Willie Frazer) would be quite upset if they were forever barred from being a political representative also.

The scariest thing about UKIP is that if they get their way and get the borders closed, then I could get stuck in the same country as them...

I recognise not everyone has the mentality or the resources to do this, but being able to migrate across European borders freely is hugely liberating. I've got a very good Russian friend who at one point had to apply for a multitude of visas to go on a touring holiday with us - he was absolutely delighted when he finally got his EU citizenship a few years later...

So yeah, don't take it for granted!
