You are correct. It is a difficult time for all involved, but it is a matter of public safety for all. Reaction times slow, hearing is impaired. It is easy to become fearful and freeways are no place for that.
@ack13 - Loved your response. Mature, insightful and thought provoking. Everything you said is true. Unfortunately it appears the majority of people are just looking for someone to blame rather than looking in the mirror.
Um, it's not up to you (the "commentator") to sound the alarm. It is a pet owners responsibility to have their animals vaccinated and be aware of the dangers. KATU reported there is an uptick in cases, they don't need to tell horror stories to get the point across of the deadly nature. Any responsible dog owner is aware of the disease. I think it's great that you are putting info out there; that is really helpful. It just seems that you are beaing up on KATU for "trivializing" the dangers of Parvo. I don't see them doing that.

I'm inspired; I figured you'd yell at me if you did respond. Personally, I know that often I speak without thinking and my disappoint in our political system (or lack thereof) generally colours my comments. Today I'm just a little more sensitive because I just heard a friend passed from cancer. So, thanks for your comments. You are definitely a cut above most!
Why do you have to be like that? What does liberal/conservative have to do with this? I am a left leaner, but people are more than the sum of their political positions. Comments like this do not inspire, they just drag everyone into the mud. Step out of it and rinse off!
Sooo, something for us all to take out of this may be to ask questions. I am sure the neighbor had no "evil intent" as people are assuming. But they did not take the time to stop, ask questions of why she was having so many sales or otherwise get involved. People do not seem to do that very often any more. I know that I will try harder to be involved with my neighbors, helping when I can. I think there is probably a lesson for all of us in this. I love how charitable people are being. This is what the meaning of the word is you know, not just a handout but charity of spirit, helping by words, support, action... It just takes a moment and look what is now happening for her. This is great...
They shut it down over a possibility of what could have happened. Not what did. There is a huge difference and they are treading into a very grey area. Were peoples rights were infringed upon? This was over possibilities, not actual happenings. This is a scary step forward. What if there was a critical situation where a cell was needed?
