Know we haven't agreed in the recent past (sorry if I was pointed!), but great to read there is common ground with someone here on at least some portion of my writings! Night!

And it would actually be 'YOU'RE AN idiot?' English 101. Prime example right here folks! Maybe you should have at least a high school diploma to be carrying a gun and having to make life threatening decisions? Hmm...you think?

Ah, no. Instead, I get too much pleasure out of combating the radical right wing commenters on this site. Someone has to!

You misunderstand my comment and intention. Keep your gun, buy another! Use it for hunting or locked away someplace safe for your personal safety. It should just be made extremely difficult for people to obtain them. That's all. Good lord, relax dude.
And yeah, 20,000 laws isn't enough. Clearly. Wake up.

Look at Florida, now and in the days to follow will be more in the news. They have this law, completely engineered and lobbied for by the NRA, that passed that says if you feel your life is threatened in anyway, go ahead and use lethal force. Kill someone one on one? Just tell the police that you thought the person was going to hurt you.
But don't worry. Nothing will change. The NRA and their VAST treasury will lobby as they do, send out their email to their mass of gun-toting, Obama hating (hmm...wonder why?), donors and ensure nothing changes by doing what they do - threatening and convincing idiot politicians that their way is the way of the people.

Boy oh boy, with the daily reports of gun violence (thanks NRA!) there needs to be a concerted revamping of gun laws in this country ASAP. It simply must be made much much more difficult for someone to obtain a gun. Certainly, the penalties have to be higher for a dealer of guns selling illegally. This old man will be out in less than a year. Sad.

You'll get sick. You'll get an accident. You'll want someone to check that lesion down by your groin.
And you'll go to the hospital. And you'll get the bill. And you'll not be able to afford it. Because by gosh, ain't no one going to tell you what to do by golly! And you. will. not. pay. the. bill. But someone WILL have to pay the bill. And it will be me and the taxpayers.
Now, you might not think this applies to you. Fine. But to the 50+ million AMERICANS (read: not illegals here) of people who can't afford/don't want to pay for insurance, this applies to them. So unless you are okay with turning around every single one of those 50 million people regardless if it is a common cold or terminal cancer, I suggest you take a more concerted look at what MAKING them pay a reasonable amount of money in insurance would look like to the your, taxpayer, bottom line.
This isn't rocket science. First, have a heart. Second, look at the economics. Third, think of a greater society.
