I no longer consider myself tea party. Tea party was supposed to be small govt. Newt chose giant govt, thug, FDR as the best pres of the 20th century, (over Reagan). He describes himself as "Wilsonian." I am sure not many people here know much about Wilson, let's just say he had Newt's giant ego, disdained the "plebes", and was dismayed at the constraints placed on the Fed. govt by the Constitution. If you don't know anything about Newt's hero FDR read the book "New Deal or Raw Deal." Then I hope you will ask yourself and all Newt supporters WT?

Clinton carried around a 5 lb bible but that didn't stop the right from lambasting him. "Character does count!" was the mantra for the ensuing years of his presidency and beyond, until now, when some peoples' desire to see newt supposedly wipe the floor with obama in a debate trumps the demand for character.
Read Nomad and Infidel by Ayaan Hirsi Ali. She is a Somali born ex muslim who spent her childhood (til about 20 I think) in somalia, Kenya, and Saudi Arabia. Nomad especially talks about what life is like as a muslim woman in these God forsaken countries. These books are a great 1st person account of the oppression of millions of women. The account of her and her sister's female mutilation is especially poignant. When they do that to you at five years old, what aren't they capable of.

Why does Dr. Jasser remain a muslim. If you believe mohammed was truly a prophet of God you cannnot disagree with anything he said or did. You follow mohammed as best you can, you don't try to change what he taught or say it no longer applies. His teachings were very clearly meant to apply to everyone for all remaining time. The Koran and the Hadith very cleary state Sharia as god's law and democracy is blashpemy against that law. The mysogyny in the koran and hadith should be enough to make any decent person run from mohammed, so I must question anyone who doesn't.
