Ignore any and all charges of racism. Don't say the word, don't issue countercharges. Furthermore, as a Tea Party-er I can say with authority that our rallies and meetings are actually somewhat lame and tame. We are mostly retired and/or veterans and family people who become most emotional when "...one nation under God.." is recited as part of the pledge.
