Just one simple question
I have a 3gs old boot ultrasnow unlocked on 4.1 and baseband 5.13.04. From what i have read in the above post i am mentioning the steps involved in jailbreaking and unlocking my device on 5.0.1. Plz tell me that wether i am correct or not.

1. Start redsnow and from extras menu select "custom ipsw" and point it to stock 5.0.1 firmware.
2. Put iphone in pawned dfu mode
3. Set hosts to apple.
4. Select the "no bb" custom ipsw prepard through redsnow and shift restore
5. start redsnow again and jailbreak
6. After mobile starts install "ultrasnow" and unlock.

Also 3gs users plz tell me how is he battery performace on 5.0.1 and is it worth upgrading from 4.1.
Thanks to the dev team for this wonderful new year gift

Thanks

I am trying to install 5.0 on it normal restore but around 75% stage i am getting the message "This iphone cannot be restored, an unknown error occurred (-1). I have unchecked "set hosts to cydia on exit" in tinyumbrella. Still i am getting this error. Plz help me i dont want to jailbreak it, just want to use the phone normally. I will wait till an untethetered jailbreak is released.

Plz help me out guys I have "No Service" on my iphone 4. I have an iphone 4 which i bought seconds. Its factory unlocked 16 GB and 5.0 was installed on it. The baseband is 4.11.08. I jailbreak using redsnow, now i get "No service" frequently. I have to use "just boot" from redsnow again to get the signal. Also I am getting the message "You need to restore your iphone from itunes" in my phone. I tried to create a custom firmware for 4.3.3 throught snowbreeze and put it in pawned dfu mode and restored it to 4.3.3 with no jailbreak. Activated it using my sim(as it is factory unlocked). Everything went fine for about 1 hr, then again "No service" Now when i restarted it its showing activation window. Again activated it with itunes and again after 1 hour "No Service". Plz help me out guys i'm getting mad. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i was also getting the same error "could not be restored because the firmware file is not compatible" this happens bcoz the firmware file is corrupt. To check this what u can do is just right click ur firmware file and select open with winrar. If winrar shows u an error just when opening the file then the firmware file is corrupted 100% otherwise else. Dont extract any files from winrar, the above method is just to check wether the file is corrupted or not. In both the cases just close winrar.
