Regarding the hellish kitchen challenge. I hate this week of the competition every year because it's so ridiculous. I can't believe anyone would let an inexperienced team gut and rebuild their kitchen in 26 hours. I don't even want to see the results, let alone live with them. That kind of challenge should be on a fake kitchen, not the real thing. You're messing with peoples lives. 36 hours stretched over more days for this challenge would still be ridiculous, but at least less doomed. This would allow for all of the pieces to come together. There's too many outside forces at work in kitchen remodel. Yes I know, it's a challenge...but it doesn't have to be impossible.

Absolutely agree with GGG and others...too many real estate shows, and not enough design. Designing in order to sell doesn't count. It's getting way boring for those of us who own and aren't moving!

Regarding the show and the selection of this years contestants, it seams that a lot of them may be good designers, but not so much in the construction. They're two different things. Some people can do both, but in my expirience, many designers can't execute as well. That's why they hire carpenters & technicians. It's entirely unfair to the people you've chosen to be in the situations they are. It was obvious from week one that most of them don't have the building skills to make this competition interesting. I'm even willing to say that NataLee & Tachika have talent as designers...but not as builders. You need hosts that can do both. Please do a better job selecting candidates that can follow through on this.
