That sounds about like MTV. "We're here with Public Image Limited, featuring Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols." <onscreen title that says "Sex Pistols">. That may even have been what set him off. He was notoriously volatile about being called "Rotten" and referencing the past when he was trying to get people to focus on "Lydon" and PiL, and what he was doing right then.

The Kennedy interview was probably just an early PiL interview. The Pistols broke up in 1978, (when Kennedy was 6 years old) and MTV didn't even go on the air until 81. Kennedy's tenure on MTV was in the 90's, well into PiL's era. (And they _did_ used to play PiL on MTV now and then, amazingly...)
