Hear! Hear!

A great article by Wayne Laugesen in the Boulder Weekly (pre-Danish) about the abuse one hapless citizen suffered at the hands of the commissioners:
http://archive.boulderweekly.com/011305/wayneswor...

The ariticle's title: "They Were Mean". First two paragraphs:

As friends and colleagues toasted ex-county commissioners Paul Danish and Ron Stewart at their lavish going-away parties, Tynia Johnson wondered where her daughter's next meal would come from. She sat with a mop on a cold basement floor, wondering how she might keep the 13-year-old from another suicide attempt.

"They ruined my life," Johnson says of the outgoing commissioners. "I've been in Boulder for 20 years, and I came here to improve myself. Now I'm worse off, by leaps and bounds, than I've ever been in my life. I'm an embarrassment to my kid."

Benjamin Netanyahu thought 9/11 was a good thing. He is now Israel's Prime Minister.

Report: Netanyahu says 9/11 terror attacks good for Israel
According to Ma'ariv, Netanyahu said Israel is 'benefiting from attack' as it 'swung American public opinion.'
By Haaretz Service and Reuters | Apr.16, 2008 | 12:00 AM | 6

The Israeli newspaper Ma'ariv on Wednesday reported that Likud leader Benjamin Netanyahu told an audience at Bar Ilan university that the September 11, 2001 terror attacks had been beneficial for Israel.

"We are benefiting from one thing, and that is the attack on the Twin Towers and Pentagon, and the American struggle in Iraq," Ma'ariv quoted the former prime minister as saying. He reportedly added that these events "swung American public opinion in our favor."

Netanyahu reportedly made the comments during a conference at Bar-Ilan University on the division of Jerusalem as part of a peace deal with the Palestinians.

And in other news, the Jewish Telegraph Agency says that military dictatorships are good for Israel:

What's your excuse for the attacks by the self-proclaimed most moral army on the planet on Orthodox Christian clergy attempting to celebrate the Easter holy days in Jerusalem last week?

The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem released a statement condemning the attacks, signed by the 13 heads of Christian churches in Jerusalem. You can read the statement here:

http://en.lpj.org/2013/05/13/a-statement-concerni...

Here are the first two paragraphs:

"We, the Heads of Churches in Jerusalem, watched with sorrowful hearts the horrific scenes of the brutal treatment of our clergy, people, and pilgrims in the Old City of Jerusalem during Holy Saturday last week. A day of joy and celebration was turned to great sorrow and pain for some of our faithful because they were ill-treated by some Israeli policemen who were present around the gates of the Old City and passages that lead to the Holy Sepulcher.

We understand the necessity and the importance of the presence of security forces to ensure order and stability, and for organizing the celebration of the Holy Fire at the Church of the Resurrection. Yet, it is not acceptable that under pretext of security and order, our clergy and people are indiscriminately and brutally beaten, and prevented from entering their churches,

"I guess it depends on when you visit a city."

Did you even read my post? Did you read the Latin Patriarch's statement?

The people attacked weren't visitors, they were clergy who live in Jerusalem.

And as for the "when" part of your statement, I guess if you don't want to be attacked and beaten by Israeli security personnel, don't attempt to visit the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem during Easter.

You might want to warn your Boulder Christian friends.

Christian clergy living in Jerusalem under Israeli rule didn't find it very safe last week. They were attacked by Israeli security personnel while attempting to celebrate Easter. Remember, Israel has the self-proclaimed most moral Army on the planet...

Your comment discussed the PA parliament as a whole.

Once I pointed out the error, you stealthily changed the subject to the Nablus mayoral and city council elections.

Are you concerned with attacks against *all* unarmed civilians in the West Bank?
