No, I don't campaign, but here are the facts. Karr was affected by the flood of 2008. His business was flooded. While water was filling his building he helped the CRFD get a launch for their boat and moved out family and friends. After the flood he helped start the Small Business Recovery Group. He won a national SBA award for his work. Now he is helping home owners and renters.
He also holds positions on several boards as well as donating and volunteering his time for non-profits.
You call this leadership that CR doesn't need?

Offensive to whom? Obviously you weren't listening at the debate. Why don't you check out the leadership credentials of Karr. He has far more credentials than any of the candidates put together. You sound a bit bitter.

This certain non-profit that you speak of definately has their hands dirty...and the "politicians" on the city council are helping them. What most people don't know is that you have to be careful who you vote in. There is one candidate who has family members that are tied to this non-profit.

The Gazette wouldn't dare pick anyone who isn't going to work for their interests....

The thing about Nick Duffy: He is young and very inexperienced! He is a teacher, (A wonderful career choice!) which makes his full-time job 40+ hours a week. Which will he ignore? His school kids or the city? What about his experience with volunteering? He never named what he volunteers for? Also-he has friends and family who experienced the flood? Well did he live it? Has he helped those who were victims? Not a good choice Gazette! What about Saylor or Karr?

Really? That's funny. Ron has not endorsed ANY candidate. Don't put words in his mouth. Karr held a get-to-meet Ron at his own residence and speaks with Ron a lot...I don't think you know what you are talking about.

If rheotirc is what you want for answers than Saylor is your man. Duffy may not have the time to devote to CR's City Council with teaching-not saying this in a negative way, but teaching is a full-time + some.

Don Karr needs to be elected for city council for many reasons. He has grown-up in this city and has raised his family to be life-long citizens here. His whole family attributes Cedar Rapids as home. You can find Don at sporting events, enjoying the arts and pulling together people who needed help after the flood. His building on the NW side of CR had thousands of damage, but he pulled through and wants Cedar Rapids to be back to the height of its glory. The very city his family loves!
Don is also donates time and money for non-profits in the area as well as sits on a few boards.
When he isn't busy, with his work and obligations, (which he loves) he spends much of his time with his family, who still get together every Sunday for dinner. A very family orientated man!
This man is incredible! Vote for him! He WILL lead Cedar Rapids through its recovery and treat the people like his very own family! He won't let you down!
