Proving once again that Christie is right: we are best served by him staying in a state office in New Jersey.

I get what you're trying to say here, Mr. Street, but can you please write more about how this bill has actually destroyed 130K jobs and is threatening a new crisis?

I don't doubt that it could have done this, but all you've really talked about is how consumers have gotten the shaft in the form of debit card fees from yet another piece of crappy legislation.

As with most from the entertainment industry, I keep reminding myself that none of these people are ever paid to THINK. That's not the talent that makes them money. If thinking is not their talent, this kind of drivel comes naturally to them.

As long as we have enough control of Congress to block bailouts, anything that bankrupts Illinois and California more quickly is a good thing. You numb-nut Chicagoans voted all your life for these jackwagons.... now reap the rewards you fools!!!!

So, so wrong, but you should be used to that by now. If people live longer by not smoking, they tend to die of diseases that cost much more to treat because those diseases are sometimes treatable. You can't just look at the treatment of smoking related illnesses as a budgetary line item that will disappear with less treatment. It just moves into a different accounting table (other cancers, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, etc).

Once you get lung cancer from smoking, no amount of treatment is going to alter the fact that you torched your lungs. Death comes sooner as well, so by default, treatment costs go down as a result of smoking.
