Jim said, "God loves a person no less or no more as a result of which system of government he or she happens to be governed by. Even which religion a person belongs to. "

Really Jim? Are you sure you don't want to qualify that statement? Did God love the Canaanites the same way he loved the Israelites? Did God love the priests of Molech and Baal the same way He loved the Aaronic Priests (real Aaronic Priests, not pubescent LDS boys) that truly loved Him and served Him? Does God love Muslims and Hindus the same way He loves the Christians who are martyred by them? Does God love the Muslim Shaheed who blows him or herself up in the middle of a classroom, a train station, an outdoor market, a wedding, or took dozens of children hostage in Beslan and raped and murdered them the same way He loved those Christians who died at their hands?

Do not see how dangerous your universalism is? This is the same nonsense Beck is preaching as he stands on the stage with hundreds of practitioners of various religions. God loves those who are His children in a different way than he loves those who are His enemies. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him. He was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light.
The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
(John 1:1-13 ESV) Who are the true children of God? Only those who receive Him and believe on His name and are born of God. It's in plain black and white. There is only One True Light, Jesus Christ, who is God the Son incarnate. The darkness hates the light. All those outside of Christ are in darkness, including you. Grace and peace with God are available to you if you lay down your false faith and run to the cross. Confess your sins, repent, turn to the True Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth, and The Life, and beg God for mercy. No one comes to the Father but through the true Jesus Christ, and those who come to Him He will not cast out. You want choice? There it is, Jim. Choose the Truth, or reject it. Either way, God will be glorified in the end. Please, I'm begging you, glorify Him as He bestows His glorious grace upon you (Ephesians 1:5-6)! Do not wait until He glorifies Himself by casting you into Hell for being the rebel sinner that you are.

So Jim, have you repented of all of your sins? Every day? Remember, your Jesus paid your heavenly father for your debt. He is now the collection agency to whom you are indebted. You just transferred a debt from Visa to Mastercard at a reduced interest rate. You can say that Jesus paid for you sins, but you owe him in full. Where are you going to get the funds to pay him back? Do you know that you have truly repented and continue to repent? Have you committed the same sin again once you have asked for forgiveness and "repented"? If you have, remember, all of your former sins get placed back on your account. Not only are you bankrupt, but you continue to pile debt onto your account.

Jim, you are exactly right. God's sovereignty is at odds with American freedom, because we do not have a Sovereign in our form of government. We believe in fair and equitable treatment based upon our form of government. But there is nothing "fair" about salvation. "Fairness" is also an American concept. This is why Mormons don't understand grace and the vicarious propitiation of Jesus Christ. It is an American religion. If God treated all men according to our American standard of "fairness" then He would have to either forgive every man their sins without regard to His just nature, or He would have to punish all men for their sins because of His just nature. Because God is both Holy and Just He cannot let sinners just go free without punishing them for their sins. In order to demonstrate His glorious grace God sovereignly chose to save some out of the entire race of man that deserve to die for their sins. But in order to save them He had to be propitiated, which means His standard of justice had to be satisfied. This was accomplished by the death of Jesus Christ on behalf of those God (in Triune Unity) chose to save before the foundation of the world, before they had done good or bad, or chose to accept His sacrifice. This is a demonstration of God's love, mercy, and "grace". The rest he has left to judgment and the punishment they justly deserve for their sins. It is the same justice and punishment that those who were saved by Jesus' atonement deserve apart from faith in Him. This is a demonstration of God's justice and wrath. God is glorified by demonstrating his attributes. But here's the good news Jim, if you understand that you deserve God's justice, repent, and place your faith and trust in Christ's sacrifice on your behalf, and cry out for mercy, God will save you! But you have to give up your idea of who God must be first, and come to a realization of who the Bible says God is. Try reading Romans 1-3 and Ephesians 1 and 2 from the perspective that I just explained. That's the "good news". Not the LDS fake it 'til you make it plan of salvation.

Jacob, their sin was that they had promised to give the proceeds from the sale of their land to the "church" for the use by all. It was a voluntary selling. But a man named Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, sold a piece of property, and with his wife's knowledge he kept back for himself some of the proceeds and brought only a part of it and laid it at the apostles' feet. But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land? While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not at your disposal? Why is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.”
(Acts 5:1-4 ESV) They were put to death by God the Holy Spirit for lying to Peter by telling him that the money they gave was all that was obtained in the sale. In reality they had kept some for themselves. Had they wisely promised a certain portion of the proceeds instead of all of it, and kept their promise, then they would not have lied to God. D&C 104 commands that all of the people's money needs to be cast in. It is not voluntary giving if the giving is commanded. Kind of the like the spiritual coercion that goes on with current LDS tithing. Pay a full tithe, or lose a chance for exaltation.

Jim, your church is just as dishonest as Satan was in the garden, "You will surely not die, for God knows that in the day you eat of the fruit of the tree you will be like God, knowing good from evil." The latter day saint then mentally skips to the end of the chapter and reads God's words, "Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil." The reading then stops and the latter day saint says, "Look, the bible teaches that we can be gods!" not realizing that God did not lie, because the sentence for Adam and Eve's transgression was death. The knowledge of good and evil that they had was in knowing right from wrong by the experience of the sin of breaking God's covenant with Adam. In an act of mercy God banishes them from the garden so that they will not have access to the tree of life and live in their sinful state forever, "Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever-' therefore the LORD GOD sent him out from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken." (Gen 3:22-23)

The LDS church teaches that the fall in the garden is what allows man the ability to choose right from wrong by knowing good from evil, which allows you to choose "Jehovah's plan". In reality Satan is your savior, not Jesus Christ, for he is the instigator of the fall. Christ "atonement" is merely a tool that allows you to access the power of the gospel and grace. This knowledge of good and evil, choosing to do right in following the LDS gospel, and your temple covenants and marriages are what proves your worthiness to become exalted, meriting the celestial kingdom. But that is just downright blasphemous so your church hides its lies among the candy and lollipop tales of forever families, which has become the new billboard for Mormonism, "You will surely not be separated from your family at death, no matter where you are, because Heavenly Father loves all of his children. The false churches of Christianity teach that all of your sins can be forgiven by faith in Jesus Christ, and apart from Christ's vicarious atonement for your sins a holy and just God must send you to an eternal hell for your violations of His law. But that is not true. All people will be saved in the resurrection of their bodies, but you and your whole family can be super saved by believing the restored gospel of Jesus Christ found only in the one true church, which is based upon this magically restored book, The Book of Mormon."

That's the lie of your church, Jim, and you are well aware of it. I cannot think of a more sinister and devilish promise that is leading men's souls to hell. Faith in a non-god and non-messiah is no faith at all.

Murdock, I suggest you read Romans 1 through 4 with a clean mind. Romans 1:16-32 convicts you for being the person that you are. Instead of giving thanks to God (who is not your Heavenly Father, because He has not adopted you into his family yet) as your creator, you have chosen to make a god you are comfortable with in the image of a former man. Your god can be appeased by your works of simple faith in the "gospel", your baptism, your sacraments, etc. The God of the Bible says that because of this He has turned your darkened your foolish heart and left you to degrading passions from your fallen self. For the works you do you deserve death. God is waiting for you to repent and has given you the Law (Ten Commandments) as a mirror to see how sinful you are. Romans 3:21-26 gives the true good news. God set His Son, Jesus Christ, as a satisfaction for the penalty you deserved for your sins. By Christ's death your sins (for which you deserve God's righteous punishment, which is Hell) are covered. If you confess, repent, and place your faith in the Jesus Christ that bought you with His sacrifice, you will be saved from the penalty of sin. Romans 4 tells you that you cannot work for it. It is the truth.

That's pretty funny, because of all cults, Witnesses definitely don't believe in Hell.

Once again, Bill, it's easy to prove that Mormonism is not "Mormon". I know that we were rebuked for this earlier, so please forgive me, but "Mormonism" is really, "Smithism", "Youngism", "Taylorism", "McConkieism", or any other "ism" that serves to console the Latter Day Saint and allow him to deny what the Bible clearly teaches. Modern Mormons are forced to deny what the BoM teaches about God, because their faith quickly moved away from its teachings as Joseph sought to assert his influence as a prophet instead just a man who was called to deliver "the ancient record of the descendants of the Jews" when it became apparent that he was not going to make any money off its sale.

Where there is proof of deception our LDS apologists are absent as usual.

I'd love to see the manuscript evidence for 2 Nephi 30:6. I would like to see if the Reformed Egyptian symbol that represented "white" is comparable to the symbol that represented "pure". Of course, I keep asking for someone to produce a Reformed Egyptian concordance, but if I was holding my breath I would have been dead a long time ago. If I was LDS I would question the changing of inspired scripture. Given how the Book of Mormon was translated (by the gift and power of God) there should be no reason to change a single word, especially in regards to a doctrine as important as inherited skin color that is a mark of disobedience. Obviously Prophet/President Kimball (supposed to be led by God and all that) understood the word white to be referring to skin color, not a person's spiritual condition, so the changing of the wording of 2 Nephi 30:6 that occurred under his presidency was dishonest. It reveals the dishonesty that plagues all man led organizations. Incidentally, I read many of the reader comments that followed the Salt Lake Tribune article. Many of the readers of that paper made it very clear that it even in Zion rational people who have examined the evidence can see that the LDS church is inconsistent at best, and a complete fraud at worst. How much evidence does a person need before it becomes clear that the LDS religion was fabricated by Joseph Smith and has been perpetuated by dishonest men?
