But the worst ever was when I was at work, taking a #2 in my other office. Pants around my ankles doing my morning business when someone starts pounding on the door of the bathroom. I hollered out that I would be a moment. The person pushes the door open (guess the lock wasn't locked well) and barges in. So here I am sitting/shitting and this person asks.
"When can I get a oil change?"
Really? You think at the moment I am taking a dump I am concerned about your oil change. Oh, sure Mr. Important, let me just finish filling this here toilet and I'll bring your truck right in. By the way, have you seen the new axle grease we use? No? Give me a few minutes and I'll have another batch ready for your truck.
Sigh...

Always refer to something on the vehicle with the idea you are sitting in the drivers seat. RF fender, LR caliper. Never say the right side or left side....Because some parts guys will be confused.
If they have a online store take the time to look up what you are going after before going or calling. Have a part number, or at least have a number of a part you know WONT fit. If you are doing rear brakes on a Silverado and know it doesn't have four wheel steering you already have eliminated two possible part numbers. If you know it has 8 lugs you eliminated some more. Now you are down to two choices on most Silverado's.
Seals. Never trust the catalog or online store. Pull it out and have measurements and clean it up and look for a number on it.
Also don't just commit to one store. I have multiple places I buy from and each is ok at most stuff but all of them are awesome at certain things. That is when you go to them.
Watch yourself for core charges. It is a easy way for them to make a few extra dollars off your butt. Never give them your old part until you know the new part goes on and actually works. I see about a %5 failure rate on all new parts regardless of who, where or what they go for. It just is.
Lots of "pro's" bash O'Reilly and Autozone for selling cheap white box parts but those stores fill a need, and fill it well. I'll gladly put a el'cheapo part on a car and carry zero warranty on it if it means putting a person back on the road in their allotted budget.
