Fantastic. Makes you wonder how many other things are so outrageously neglected or overlooked in the medical field. 75%? Seriously? Just one more reason to only go in to the doctor when it's absolutely necessary.

I like the random percentages there. There is the distinct possibility that the milk could be the source. Raw vegetables have E. coli contamination issues as well. Without knowing more about the kids, such as if they are in the same household, school, daycare, etc. it's a little ridiculous to jump straight on the raw milk for it.

There are plenty of ways to be exposed to E. coli. Raw milk is an easy scape goat.

I'm sure they hadn't had anything else to eat or drink, so obviously it was the raw milk. Oh, and they surely hadn't come in contact with anyone with poor hand-washing skills either.

Regardless of the breastfeeding/formula issue, I'm not a fan of advertising in the hospital setting like that. Tacky free crap, if you ask me.

With the little one being that young, it could be that a load of cloth diapers were soaking. Or a load of anything, really. Diapers were my first thought since they are usually soaked for a while before the wash load and my youngest wears them.

As for a kid that young climbing that high, my kids could climb before they could walk. Kids are quick and seem to master these sorts of skills out of the blue.

Such a sad, scary situation. My heart goes out to the mom, how devastating.

"she can't provide as much structure for her son as an aunt could"

Can't imagine the aunt (or anyone) could do much worse.

"The woman [toddler's mother] had previously been cited for leaving a child unattended in a vehicle. In 2009, Redmond police cited Biryukova and her husband, Solomon Metalwala, for leaving a child unattended in a vehicle. The case was dismissed after they agreed to probation, community service and a 10-week parenting class."

Mom's fb page reminds me of T. Horman, all about the daughter, nada about the son. :-(
