It's the latter. Grandy's numbers don't quite stack up to Jose Bautista's or Adrian Gonzalez's. Right now, CC Sabathia is in good position to win Cy. As John Smoltz said, it could be an incredible race between Verlander, CC and Weaver. I'd even throw in Beckett.

You're right about the GIDP stats, raider, but Nate is right about Jeter's ground ball tendencies. Jeter leads all of baseball in ground ball percent (65..7%) and would likely hit into more DP's if hitting second in the order.
